In a basketball world where so many players chase highlights, stats, and attention, Trey brings something different to the floor every single game. The versatile forward impacts winning in every possible way without ever needing the spotlight to prove his importance. Toughness, intelligence, unselfishness, versatility, and nonstop hustle all collide together in Trey’s game, making him the type of player coaches absolutely love having on their side.

Trey describes himself as a versatile forward who can defend, score, and rebound at a high level while filling whatever role it takes to win. That mindset alone tells you exactly what kind of player he is. Some athletes worry about touches or recognition. Trey worries about winning possessions, games, doing the dirty work, and making life easier for teammates. That mentality is becoming rarer and rarer, which is exactly why his impact stands out so much.

What separates Trey from many players his size is how much he values the little things most people never notice. Setting strong screens, sealing defenders to create driving lanes for teammates, communicating constantly, diving on the floor for loose balls, rotating defensively, sprinting the floor, or making the extra pass. These are the winning plays that often decide games long before the stat sheet ever tells the full story. Trey embraces every bit of it because he understands basketball beyond just scoring.

That all-around impact was big during MN Fury 17U-Zurn’s electric 5-0 championship run at the Prep Hoops Upper Midwest Finals. Trey stuffed stat sheets throughout the weekend while constantly making momentum-shifting plays on both ends of the floor. In the unforgettable overtime championship win over MN Select, he finished with 11 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assists while battling possession after possession in one of the most intense games of the entire weekend.

The Fury became dangerous because everybody on the floor could handle the basketball and play fast, including the bigs. Trey explained how rebounding and instantly pushing the break created easy opportunities for teammates sprinting the floor. That pace, combined with improved ball movement, helped completely unlock the offense. Instead of becoming stagnant, the Fury kept defenses shifting side to side until openings appeared everywhere. Trey’s ability to rebound, facilitate, and make quick decisions became a huge piece of that championship formula.

Another huge area of improvement in Trey’s game has been expanding his shooting range. He recognized quickly that improving as a shooter would not only help him but open the floor for everybody else, too. Stretching opposing big defenders away from the paint creates open driving lanes and more offensive freedom for teammates attacking downhill. And if defenders refuse to step out, Trey has full confidence letting it fly.

That confidence did not come without adversity, though. Early in the season, Trey battled through a frustrating shooting slump where the countless hours spent in the gym were not showing up consistently during games. Instead of losing confidence, he attacked the problem directly. He spent even more time getting up shots, studying film, breaking down mechanics, and continuing to trust the work he had already put in. That response says a lot about his mentality because tough stretches expose how players truly handle pressure and frustration.

Off the court, Trey’s accomplishments are just as impressive as what he’s doing on the court. He’ll finish his junior year carrying a remarkable 4.13 GPA while already earning 52 college credits, with plans to reach 80 credits by the end of his senior year. On top of that, he recently passed the Bilingual Seal test and officially became bilingual in Spanish. That level of discipline, focus, and maturity speaks volumes about the type of person and teammate he is becoming.

This offseason, Trey is focused on continuing to grow offensively, becoming stronger physically, and finding even more ways to impact games. At the same time, he’s searching for the right college fit academically, athletically, and culturally. He wants a program that values both the person he is and the style of player he brings to the floor.

Looking ahead, coaches can expect leadership, positivity, toughness, and extremely high basketball IQ every single time Trey steps on the court. He’s the type of player that elevates team basketball because he naturally does the things winning teams need most. The scoring and versatility continue to grow, but the unselfish mindset, communication, and willingness to embrace every role are what truly set him apart.

Moving forward, Trey has the tools to become an extremely impactful player because complete basketball players like him fit anywhere. His size, versatility, rebounding, passing ability, defensive awareness, and expanding perimeter game allow him to affect games in countless ways without ever forcing action. Players who consistently make teammates better while embracing tough, winning basketball always find ways to succeed.

I assess that Trey is a highly versatile forward with a strong basketball IQ, rebounding ability, defensive awareness, and a team-first mentality. His willingness to impact games through hustle, communication, screening, passing, and physical play makes him extremely effective beyond traditional scoring numbers. He understands spacing, moves the ball well, and consistently creates winning opportunities through effort and smart decision-making.

Trey’s upside continues rising because of his combination of size, versatility, intelligence, and unselfish basketball. His expanding shooting range adds another dangerous weapon offensively, while his rebounding and passing allow him to impact multiple positions on the floor.
