Freeman is an aggressive, downhill monster off the bounce, and a fierce finisher at the rim. He is simply explosive in transition.  He is a bigger Combo Guard, who happens to be extremely athletic and who possesses a very high basketball IQ.  He is a master at dishing the rock, as well as shooting it himself. He has put a strong emphasis getting to the paint and drawing the defense to him.  Add in his defense and his rebounding, and we are now cooking with gas.

This past season, he averaged 9 points, 4 assists and 2 rebounds per game. His team lost in the 1st round of the playoffs, and that really left him with a bad taste in his mouth. He has worked extremely hard this entire offseason to make sure history doesn’t repeat itself. His goal is to make All County and try to make a state run. Little by little, people are starting to see that this can compete with some of the best.  He wants to get stronger and faster, which will only allow him to elevate his game even further.  He plans on averaging 15 points and 7 assists per game and to also try to rack up offers.

Playing AAU for Bigger Than Basketball Puma, he played against much better competition, and he proved that he can compete with anyone, win or lose. He wanted to show that he is not only a Point Guard who can dish the rock, but that he can also score himself. And he did just that! This kid plays with an intense energy, and you can instantly tell that he just has a real love for the game. That love can’t be faked. He is a hustler, who always leaves it all out there on the court.

He has an innate ability to remain calm, cool and collected under pressure. He never forces anything that just isn’t there, and yet he still remains super aggressive, always taking what the defense gives him. When asked what a coach can expect from him, he said “I will always take care of the ball, never force anything that isn’t there, and I will always be a leader.”

His dream is to play at the next level, and my personal assessment after watching him is he will absolutely be playing at the next level someday. You simply can't teach heart, and this kid has a mountain of that, to match his skills. As his confidence continues to grow, so does will his ceiling…I have a sneaky suspicion that this upcoming season will be a season to remember. Stay tuned!
