Kalen is an electric, dynamic two-way playmaker with a smooth and calm approach. His game carries a different type of power, one built on instincts, awareness, and a natural ability to take over without forcing anything. He sees the game like a coach before the snap even happens, reading alignments, studying tendencies, and already knowing what’s coming before the ball is ever in motion. That’s what separates him. While others react, Kalen is already a step ahead, using his athleticism and adaptability to make plays in real time. Whether it’s locking in on defense or making something happen with the ball in his hands, he brings a versatile, crafty swagger that impacts every phase. Coaches can expect a smart, dominant competitor every time he steps on the field, someone who plays with purpose, preparation, and a confidence that never wavers.
The growth in his game is fueled by real work. His biggest improvements have come in his strength, speed, and IQ, all areas he attacked head-on after getting a firsthand look at varsity speed as a freshman starter on both sides of the ball. That experience lit a fire, showing him exactly what it takes to compete at a high level. Sitting out his sophomore season after transferring from George Jenkins to Lakeland wasn’t a setback; it was a planned move to build his body and elevate his game. Now training with 2x Olympic and Coach Simone Facey, he’s dialing in his running form and mechanics while adding real power to his body, benching 185 pounds 7 times with a 225 power clean and clocking a 4.6 in the 40. His motivation comes from the work he puts in daily, and his mindset stays grounded in preparation.
The impact was already there, earning honorable mention All-County in Polk County as a freshman, to picking up an early offer from the University of North Carolina Pembroke.
Kalen’s game is built on instinct and preparation, working together. He studies the game deeply, breaking down offensive and defensive looks, so when the moment comes, everything slows down for him. That ability to process quickly and adapt on the fly allows him to make plays that others simply don’t see. When facing adversity, he doesn’t panic or fade, he stays calm and responds with the same fire he brings every snap, matching intensity and raising his level. That steady mindset, paired with his natural athleticism, makes him a player who continues to grow with every rep.
What fuels him goes beyond the field. His belief in God and his commitment to trusting the process play a major role in how he approaches everything. That foundation keeps him grounded, focused, and driven to chase his goal of playing D1 football in the next two years. The best advice he has ever received is to keep God first and trust the work. It’s the same advice he lives by every day, built around the words that stuck with him most, Victory Loves Preparation.
Looking ahead, Kalen is stepping into this next phase with purpose. With his combination of speed, awareness, and versatility, the ceiling is high and still rising. As he continues to develop physically and sharpen his game, expect a player who becomes even more explosive, more impactful, and more complete on both sides of the ball. This is a name that’s only going to keep gaining traction.
I assess that Kalen brings a combination of awareness, athletic movement, and versatility that allows him to impact the game in multiple ways. His ability to read the game before it unfolds gives him an edge that can’t be taught, and when mixed with his natural movement and fluid style, it creates a dangerous combination. His physical and mental growth show he is serious about development, and his approach to preparation separates him from many at his stage.
Kalen has the tools to develop into a high-level college prospect with continued physical growth and experience. His understanding of the game, combined with his adaptability and work ethic, gives him strong long-term upside. As he continues to build strength and refine his explosiveness, he has the potential to become a major impact player at the next level, with a game that translates well to multiple systems and schemes. Stay tuned.
