"Storm Warning: The Electric Floor General Who Brings Buckets and Locks Up Everything"

Eli Ramsey,

@EliRamsey08,

6’0, 165lbs, Class of 2027,

North Marion HS, WV

Eli is a relentless two-way dynamo whose game jumps off the floor with energy, creativity, and control. Electric off the bounce with fierce handles, he attacks with purpose and gets to his spots with confidence, finishing with craft, strength, and flair. He uses speed and body control to score through contact or blow past defenders, and just when defenses think they’ve adjusted, he can bring the rain from deep with a confident touch that keeps them guessing every possession. He sees the floor at a high level, drops sweet dimes, and plays with a pace and IQ that keep everything flowing. On the other end, he’s a tenacious on-ball defender who turns pressure into steals and those steals into quick offense. He mixes it up on the boards and competes everywhere, making him a complete guard who impacts every part of the game.

In his own words, Eli is a crafty guard who scores at all three levels, plays with high IQ, makes great decisions, gets to his spots, and finishes well while seeing the floor clearly and playing off two feet. That showed all season long as he averaged 20 points, 5.6 assists, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.4 steals per game while shooting 58 percent from two and a blistering 44 percent from three. That kind of production shows control, efficiency, and confidence in how he approaches the game. What makes it even more impressive is how he got there. Coming off an injury that limited him to just nine games, he didn’t ease his way back; he came out aggressive and turned that adversity into motivation, earning first-team all-state in AAA, first-team all-conference, and first-team all-tournament honors while also breaking the single-season assist record at North Marion.

His biggest improvement showed up in his overall development, physically and mentally, learning how to control pace, read defenses quicker, and trust his decisions without hesitation. Now the focus is on building more strength, extending his range even deeper, and becoming more dangerous off screens by reading defenders and pulling up when they go under. That next level is already taking shape.

When the lights got brighter, Eli leaned into it. He helped lead his team all the way to the state championship, embracing the pressure and feeding off the energy of big moments. What fuels him the most is when his team catches a run and momentum starts building, that shift where everything starts clicking and the game turns. That’s when he elevates even more. When facing adversity, he and his team don’t panic; they come together, refocus, and attack the problem with a clear mindset and purpose. That approach is built on a next-play mentality, keeping everything moving forward without getting stuck on mistakes. That mindset carries into AAU with WV Gold NXT on the Puma NXT circuit, where he continues to compete against high-level talent and prove himself every time out.

Off the court, Eli values time with family and friends, staying grounded while keeping his goals in front of him. Academically focused, he’s targeting high-level programs like St. Mary’s College and Case Western Reserve, looking to continue his basketball career while earning a strong education.

Coaches can expect a player who gives everything he has every time he steps on the floor, leads by example, competes on both ends, and brings energy that impacts winning. Eli isn’t just producing numbers, he’s setting a tone and building something that keeps growing.

I assess that Eli is a dynamic guard who impacts the game with scoring, playmaking, and defensive pressure. His ability to produce efficiently while creating opportunities for others makes him a constant threat. He plays with confidence, toughness, and a strong understanding of the game that allows him to control tempo.

As he continues to get stronger and extend his range, Eli’s ceiling continues to rise. His skill set, IQ, and competitive mindset give him the tools to succeed at the next level. With his academic focus and all-around game, he is poised to be a guard who can make a strong impact in a high-level program. Stay tuned.
