Landon is the spark that can change the pace of a game in a hurry. The fast-paced guard thrives in transition with his head always up, looking to create easy opportunities for teammates before the defense has time to recover. His court vision allows him to see plays develop before they happen, and he has the confidence to make the right pass at the right time. Add in solid shooting, the ability to make shots off the catch or the bounce, strong ball handling under pressure, and the speed to attack downhill, and you have a guard who brings constant pressure every time he touches the ball. On the other end, Landon takes just as much pride in his defense, staying active on and off the ball while making life miserable for whoever he's guarding.

His freshman season was filled with growth and valuable experience. Landon averaged 6.5 points, 2.6 assists, 1.2 rebounds, and 2.2 steals while showing flashes of the impact he can make on both ends of the floor. One of his biggest performances came in an overtime victory where he stuffed the stat sheet with 13 points, 6 assists, 3 rebounds, and 4 steals, proving he could rise to the occasion when his team needed him the most. His efforts throughout the season earned him All-LKC Conference Honorable Mention, giving him a strong foundation to build on as his high school career continues.

The biggest improvement in his game came from seeing the floor better and making smarter decisions with the basketball. His court vision and basketball IQ took a major step forward, allowing him to read defenses more effectively and create easier scoring opportunities for himself and his teammates. He also became much more comfortable handling pressure, attacking the rim with confidence, and finishing through traffic instead of settling for difficult shots.

Like many young guards, Landon has faced the challenge of being smaller than many of the players he competes against. Instead of looking at it as a disadvantage, he turned it into motivation. He learned to use his speed to beat defenders off the bounce and relied on quick hands and lateral movement to become an aggressive defender who refuses to back down. That mindset has helped shape the relentless style he now brings every time he steps on the court.

His offseason has been built on getting better in every area that matters. He's continuing to improve his shot, tighten his handle, improve his finishing, and become both stronger and faster so he can be even more effective on both ends of the floor. Every workout has a purpose, and every rep is designed to prepare him for game situations.

When nobody is watching, the work keeps going. Landon spends countless hours getting quality game-speed reps, putting up hundreds of shots several days each week, and attacking every workout with purpose. On the days he isn't shooting, he's running, conditioning, and building strength because he knows every small improvement adds up over time. His drive comes from wanting to become the very best version of himself, and that hunger keeps pushing him back into the gym day after day.

Ask what a coach can expect, and the answer starts with energy. Landon brings nonstop intensity, aggressive defense, constant communication, and maximum effort on every possession. He competes with energy, embraces tough assignments, and does the little things that help teams win while never taking a play off.

This upcoming season, expect an even better version of Landon Hartshorn. Expect the same relentless defense that turns him into a pest on and off the ball, but with more strength, more speed, more confidence, and an expanded offensive game. If the work he's putting in behind the scenes is any indication, don't be surprised when his production climbs right along with it because this rising guard is only getting started.

I assess that Landon's greatest strengths are his speed, court vision, defensive intensity, and ability to play under control without slowing the game down. He creates opportunities for teammates, handles pressure well, and competes with a relentless motor that impacts both ends of the floor. His willingness to embrace hard work and continue improving gives him plenty of room to keep rising.

Landon brings winning qualities that coaches love to have on the floor. His ability to push the pace, make smart decisions, pressure the basketball, and compete with nonstop energy allows him to impact games in multiple ways. As he continues getting stronger, faster, and more confident offensively, his impact should continue to grow, making him a guard worth keeping a close eye on. Stay tuned.
