Richard is a dynamic point guard who plays with relentless speed, fearless energy, and a defensive edge that never lets up. Every time he steps on the court, he brings a fast-paced, high-pressure style that puts opposing guards in survival mode. Richard thrives in transition, slicing through lanes with tight ball-handling and delivering pinpoint passes to create open looks for his teammates. His court vision and hustle make him the kind of floor general who can dictate the rhythm of a game. What separates him from the rest is his fierce perimeter defense, explosive first step, and ability to turn defense into offense in the blink of an eye. Coaches can expect a leader who competes with heart, leaves everything out there, and thrives when the lights are the brightest.
This season, Richard averaged 11.6 points, 2.7 assists, 1.6 rebounds, and 2.4 steals per game, while shooting 70% from the line and 34% from beyond the arc. His biggest improvement came in three-point shooting and overall ball control, showing clear development in confidence and execution. Now, he’s locking in on three key areas this offseason: becoming more consistent from deep, building the strength to finish through contact, and tightening decision-making under pressure. The most powerful moment of his season came during the district championship run with his squad, an experience that fueled his hunger and drive for postseason success.
Richard will continue playing with Lely High through AAU, with a clear focus to gain exposure, compete against elite talent, and elevate his impact on big stages. He’s looking forward to leading his team to a deeper playoff run next season, and he brings the kind of energy that turns tense games into statement wins. Nothing fires him up more than high-pressure situations, when the score is tight and every possession counts, he’s the one stepping up to make the difference. He handles adversity with composure, focusing on the next play and trusting his preparation. And he never loses sight of what matters most, being present and playing every moment like it matters, just like the best advice he’s received: “Enjoy the moment.”
I assess that Richard’s speed, court vision, and defensive aggression make him a sparkplug guard that any program can build around. He controls tempo, brings constant energy, and has the tools to be both a scorer and a disruptor. As his strength and shooting evolve, he’ll be even more difficult to contain at the next level.
Expect Richard to rise as a go-to leader and difference-maker. His commitment to development, leadership under pressure, and ability to fuel fast breaks and clamp down on defense give him the ceiling of a true game-changer. With every rep, he’s becoming the complete floor general that programs crave. Stay tuned.
