Yaseen is a lightning bolt in shoulder pads, though small in stature, he is colossal in impact. Every time he touches the ball, defenders are left grasping at air, guessing which direction he’s going next. Explosive, elusive, and electric, he doesn’t just move the chains, he breaks games open. What separates Yaseen from every other running back in his class is his rare blend of shiftiness and straight-line speed, but even more so, it’s his heart. Coaches should know they’re getting a relentless competitor who combines fierce effort with crafty footwork and never takes a play-off. His ability to break down defenses before the snap and attack open gaps with vision and violence makes him a nightmare to prepare for and a dream to coach.
In just his freshman year, Yaseen racked up over 1,000 yards and 18 touchdowns, six of those coming at the JV level, despite splitting time between teams. Now entering his sophomore campaign with a varsity starting spot is what he's gunning for. He’s evolved in every way. He bench presses 265 pounds, clocks a blazing 4.58 40-yard dash, and has poured countless hours into getting stronger and quicker this offseason. That fire is fueled by his mother’s belief in him, and her unwavering support drives every rep, every sprint, every play. The opportunity to start on varsity as a sophomore isn’t just a milestone but a mission. His biggest improvement has been his physical development, but mentally, he’s become a field general, studying fronts and linebacker alignments to stay one step ahead.
Yaseen models his game after Jahmyr Gibbs, and it shows in every juke, burst, and cut. He thrives under pressure and sees adversity not as a setback, but as a signal to level up. When the lights come on, he delivers. Every game is personal, and every carry is a chance to honor the work he’s put in. Coaches can expect unmatched passion and a performance standard that’s sky-high. He’s not interested in anything less than DI, and he’s already taken visits to Rutgers and Lafayette to begin laying the foundation. To him, it’s not just about playing college football but sacrificing, grinding, and earning the right to dominate on that stage.
I assess that Yaseen’s combination of quick-twitch agility, top-end speed, and high football IQ makes him a legitimate game-changer at the running back position. His low center of gravity, fearless running style, and ability to catch defenses off balance create serious mismatch potential at the next level. For a college program looking to inject energy and edge into its backfield, Yaseen is a high-upside weapon with immediate impact potential.
Moving forward, expect Yaseen to explode as one of New Jersey’s most dynamic young backs. As he gets more varsity reps, his production and skill set will rise as will his stock. With his work ethic, mindset, and raw ability, his potential of becoming a highly productive, feared offensive force with long-term D1 potential be on full display. Stay tuned.
