Warren Central HS, KY

Ian is quickly proving himself as one of the most complete guards in Kentucky’s 2027 class. He combines lethal shooting range, dazzling passing vision, and gritty on-ball defense into a package coaches can’t ignore. At the @UpNextRecruits showcase, he showed off his ability to light it up from deep while still facilitating for teammates and locking down opponents. His high IQ and unselfish approach make him a true floor leader who makes everyone around him better while still being able to take over a game when the moment calls for it.

On the AAU stage with Griffin Elite White, Ian averaged 14+ points per game while adding assists and steals to show off his two-way game. He had multiple high-scoring outings, including games of 15, 20, and even stretches where he rained in five triples with ease. He became a reliable top scorer every weekend, all while elevating his leadership role. Back at Warren Central, he’s focused on building consistency, confidence, and improving his physicality and defense. Despite not averaging double digits last season on a loaded team, he’s poised to carry that growth into his junior year, bringing energy, efficiency, and vocal leadership that sets the tone for his team while taking on a more offensive scoring role.

For Ian, it’s the intangibles that fuel his fire. He thrives when underestimated, gets sparked by big defensive possessions, and refuses to let a missed shot affect the rest of his game. He takes adversity head-on, keeping a positive mindset and finding ways to help his team win. His goal for the upcoming season is to lead Warren Central in the King of the Bluegrass tournament and chase a state title. And with his mix of scoring swagger, court vision, and tough defense, he’s positioned to be one of the breakout names in Kentucky hoops this season.

I assess that Ian’s elite outside shooting, strong court vision, and defensive energy make him a guard who can elevate any program. His ability to score efficiently while facilitating and leading vocally provides a balance that coaches value. He has already shown he can perform against high-level competition, proving he belongs among the top of his class.

As Ian continues to improve his fitness, defense, and ability to finish through contact, his game will only become more complete. Expect him to make a major leap this year as both a scorer and leader, with the potential to draw more college interest as he continues producing on the AAU circuit and at Warren Central. A tough, underrated competitor with the skill to match, Ianl is on the rise and ready to make his mark. Stay tuned for a breakout season ahead.
