Sonny is proof that size means nothing when your game speaks loud and clearly a reminder that dynamite comes in small packages. He is a fearless scoring machine with a silky stroke and tight handle, Sonny plays with a confidence that commands attention every time he touches the ball. He’s a lights-out shooter who doesn’t shy away from the moment, whether it’s pulling up from deep, slicing through defenders with crafty dribbles, or setting the tone with his leadership. He plays with the poise and edge of a savvy veteran, using his quickness, fiercest instincts, and relentless energy to carry his team on both ends. What separates Sonny from other guards his age isn’t just his ability to score but his mindset. He’s a vocal leader, a gym rat, and a bucket-getter with a chip on his shoulder and ice in his veins.
After averaging 4.6 points per game last year, Sonny exploded onto the scene this season with a staggering 536 points in just 22 games—an electric 24.4 points per game. That scoring leap wasn’t by accident, it was earned through hard work, relentless repetition, and a burning desire to lead. As team captain, he took charge, not just vocally, but by pouring in over half his team’s points and stepping up when it mattered most. His focus now shifts to building his stamina and improving his floater and mid-range pull-up, areas that will add even more danger to his offensive bag. While he doesn’t compete on the AAU circuit, Sonny battles in the SWBL and has his eyes locked on winning the league and bringing home the cup.
This upcoming season, he’s fired up to take the floor with his new squad in the UK National League South West, a team he believes has the pieces to win it all. His favorite way to get goingis knocking down that first three, then it’s game on. When facing adversity, Sonny refuses to fold. He lifts his team, finds the silver lining, and digs in harder. His go-to mindset comes from the best coaching advice he’s ever received, "Pain is temporary, quitting lasts forever". That message has become his fuel, reminding him that greatness only comes to those who refuse to give up.
I assess that Sonny’s confidence, natural scoring touch, and sharp ball-handling give him an early edge that few in his class can match. His leadership and work ethic elevate not only his game but everyone around him. He has the makings of a floor general with the will and skill to thrive on any level he plays.
Keep an eye on Sonny as he continues to torch defenses across the UK. His rapid development and fearless attitude suggest a high ceiling, and as he polishes the finer points of his game, his impact will only grow louder. The next phase of his journey is just getting started, and he's ready to turn heads. Stay tuned.
