Jackson “Jack” Lee brings an electric combination of size, toughness, and football sense to Jefferson Forest, making his presence felt whether the ball comes his way or not. At receiver, he fights for position, climbs for contested catches, and takes pride in blocking for his teammates. At safety, he helps direct the defense and keeps his eyes on the details that can change a play. His approach starts with the team, and that shows in the way he competes on offense, defense, and special teams.

Jefferson Forest ran the ball about 90% of the time last season, yet Jack averaged 20 yards per catch and received 40% of its passes. He trusted his coaches to choose the moments to throw, then punished defenses that had locked in on the run. Each catch mattered, and his ability to win the football in the air while doing the physical work between throws has caught the attention of college coaches. He gives the offense a dynamic answer when a defense commits too much attention to the ground game.

This season, Jefferson Forest has started 5-0, with its defense allowing only 14 points. Jack has 7 catches for 148 yards and 3 touchdowns, while adding 10 tackles, 4 pass breakups, and a forced fumble. Those numbers show how he can strike through the air and bring a fierce edge to the secondary without changing the way he plays for his teammates. As a captain, he sets a tone with his attention to detail and his willingness to handle the work that doesn't always get noticed.

His growth as a leader has meant as much to him as any play he's made. Jack improved his blocking through work on the field and in the weight room, then pushed to improve his routes, strength, and tackling during the offseason. Last year, Jefferson Forest reached its deepest playoff run in 30 years, and his game-sealing interception sent the team to the region final. He played from Week 6 through the state semifinal with a badly broken finger, choosing to finish the season beside his teammates and seniors despite the option of surgery.

The work behind the scenes gives Jack another edge. He studies opponents on film, looks for their habits, and pictures how he will respond to formations and the defender lined up against him. That preparation meets a bond built with more than 20 seniors, many of whom have shared a football field with him since they were five. Their belief in one another fuels him, and so does every doubt directed at the team. Jack wants Jefferson Forest playing its best football when the playoffs begin, with every game along the way showing how much this brotherhood has grown.

Jack’s value comes from how naturally he fits the demands of a physical game. His competitive timing lets him turn a limited throwing window into a real scoring chance, while his discipline helps the unit stay sound when the action shifts away from him. There's substance in the way he prepares and purpose in the way he finishes.

Jack’s film gives coaches two details to watch closely: how he gains leverage at the top of a route and how quickly he closes from depth when the ball goes elsewhere. Those movements show his range and reaction speed beyond the highlight catches. Against tougher matchups, they can put him in position to make a play before the football arrives.
