5’7, 140lbs, Class of 2026

Hazel Green High School, AL

Sloan is a smooth, savvy floor general who brings calm in chaos and control in pressure. She’s a true pass-first point guard with an old-school mindset and a new-school edge. Her game is smooth, disciplined, and relentless. Sloan plays with a team-first attitude, thrives on creating opportunities for others, and takes pride in doing the little things that make a big difference. She gets downhill with purpose, reads the floor like a veteran, and always seems one step ahead of the defense. She has fierce defensive swagger in her own right, too. Her poise under pressure and commitment to accountability set her apart, she’s not trying to be flashy, she’s focused on winning. Coaches don’t just get a player with Sloan, they get an on-court extension of themselves. A leader. A communicator. A floor general who competes with heart and plays with purpose.

This past season, Sloan averaged 10 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 3.3 steals, and totaled over 100 deflections while shooting a blistering 53.6% from the field and 56.1% inside the arc. Her presence was felt on every possession, not just with the ball in her hands, but on the defensive end, where she showed grit, anticipation, and toughness. Her biggest focus right now is improving her finishing off two feet, and she’s committed to becoming more consistent in traffic. After a crushing two-point double-overtime loss in the Final Four, Sloan’s fire is blazing. She’s locked in on redemption. Getting back to the state championship and finishing the job.

She’s currently playing AAU for FBC Legacy 17U, where her goal is to

win every possession and do it together. Her calm demeanor and high IQ allow her to lead without forcing, while her accountability and effort speak volumes without needing to shout. Sloan brings maximum effort every time she steps on the floor and never loses sight of the details, like body language, effort, attitude, and communication. When facing adversity, she controls what she can and keeps her composure, knowing that how she responds defines who she is as a player and teammate.

What fuels Sloan is bigger than basketball. It's the belief others have poured into her, including family, coaches, trainers, and teammates. She knows the work they’ve put in alongside her, and she competes not just for herself but for everyone who’s helped build the player she’s becoming. That kind of motivation runs deep, and it shows every time she laces up.

I assess that Sloan is the type of player every coach dreams of: unselfish, consistent, and locked in on doing what it takes to win. Her ability to control tempo, facilitate offense, and spark defensive momentum makes her a key weapon in any system built on team success and smart execution.

Expect Sloan to rise this season as a reliable and trusted leader. Her quiet confidence, elite decision-making, and fierce defensive energy will continue to shine in big moments. With her sights set on a state title and the discipline to lead a championship-level team, her potential is as steady as it is high. Stay tuned for what could be her that road to redemption and a celebration of that chip!
