Griffin is a fast and shifty three-level scorer with a beautiful, silky-smooth rainmaker from deep that forces defenses to react the moment he crosses half court. His shooting is pure and confident, and when defenders crowd him, he explodes off the bounce and gets downhill in a hurry. He finishes through contact with speed and body control, rising into tough makes that swing momentum. His handles are strong, his pace keeps defenders off balance, and his ability to change speeds creates openings that simply should not be there. Give him space, and he makes you pay. Press up, and he is already gone, scoring over bigger bodies or setting up the next action.
What separates Griffin is the way he controls possessions as a playmaker. He reads help early, sees the floor well, and delivers dazzling dimes when multiple defenders collapse. His court vision allows him to get teammates open looks while still staying aggressive as a scorer.
On the defensive end, he plays with real pride, locking in on his matchup and using quick feet and anticipation to disrupt rhythm. When the chance is there, he turns defense into free fast-break points. He is a force on the boards, competes beyond his size, and leads with both his voice and his actions. When games get tight, Griffin wants the ball in his hands and thrives on making winning plays.
Last season, Griffin averaged 14.6 points per game, 3.1 rebounds, and 1 assist. This year, he has elevated every part of his impact, averaging 19.1 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 3.3 steals. His biggest improvement has been his playmaking, consistently finding a way to get himself or a teammate an open shot on nearly every possession. Whether it is beating his man off the dribble, using a screen, or powering through contact in the post, he finds answers. He continues to push his development by extending his range with defenders in his space, adding strength, and improving his vertical to open even more layers of his game.
Griffin’s goals are driven by team success. He wants his team to finish above .500, win 2 playoff games for the first time in a long while, and earn 1st-team all-conference honors. Looking ahead, he is excited about continuing to grow both individually and as a team, with more talent on the horizon and higher expectations. What fires him up is shutting down teams that do not expect Westby to show up and going on runs that flip the script. He thrives on guarding the opponent’s top option and winning that battle on both ends, while feeding off his teammates catching fire.
When facing adversity, Griffin embraces the moment seeing it as opportunity. He wants the ball in his hands, trusts himself, and knows his teammates trust him to make the right play, whether that means getting a bucket or coming up with a stop. He stays aggressive, composed, and committed to winning.
I assess that Griffin brings scoring versatility, defensive pride, and steady control to a college program. His ability to score at all three levels while creating opportunities for others gives him real value as a lead guard. His rebounding, defensive effort, and leadership presence elevate everyone around him.
As Griffin continues to add strength and expand his shooting range under pressure, his impact will keep rising. Expect him to keep evolving as a dependable closer who can control games late with both his scoring and decision-making. He is built to lead, built to compete, and built to win. Stay tuned.
