Zander brings an exciting brand of basketball every time he steps on the floor. He plays with nonstop hustle, attacks every possession with confidence, and has the ability to score from anywhere on the court. He can shoot the lights out of the ball, rain in shots from deep in bunches, and still power through contact at the rim with strength and confidence. Add in his relentless motor and willingness to battle for every loose ball, rebound, and defensive stop, and you quickly see why he believes his game is different. Whether the moment calls for a big basket, a defensive stop, or simply outworking everyone on the floor, Zander embraces every challenge without hesitation.
His sophomore season gave him another opportunity to continue growing, finishing with an average of 11.9 points per game, but he admits the season left him hungry because his team dropped games they felt they should have won. Instead of dwelling on disappointment, he used it as motivation. That mindset carried straight into the AAU season with Indiana Impact, where everything started coming together. Averaging more than 25 points per game throughout the summer, he finished his final tournament with an impressive 25.0 points per game after pouring in 20, 25, 16, 32, and 28 points in five games. Game after game, he lit up the scoreboard, exploded for multiple 30-point performances, and showed he could take over games against good competition. While the scoring numbers certainly grab your attention, Zander says the biggest accomplishment wasn't a single game or stat line. It was seeing how much his game had grown from the beginning of the summer until the final whistle of the AAU season. The confidence he built through countless hours in the weight room and gym allowed him to reach every goal he set for himself, making all of the hard work worthwhile.
The biggest improvement in Zander's game came with his shooting and ball handling. Those two areas completely changed the way he attacked defenders and made him even more dangerous every time he touched the basketball. During his final tournament, he made at least 6 triples per game, stretching defenses well beyond the arc while still having the ability to attack the basket whenever defenders overplayed his shot. That combination turned him into an offensive headache because there simply wasn't an easy answer for slowing him down.
Success didn't come without adversity. Zander admits the AAU season started slower than he expected as he worked to get comfortable with a new team and adjust to playing with new teammates. Instead of allowing that slow start to define his summer, he stayed patient, trusted the process, and continued putting in the work every day. Before long, he became Indiana Impact's leading scorer tournament after tournament, proving that perseverance and consistency always pay off.
His offseason isn't built around shortcuts because he believes improvement comes from showing up every single day. Whether it's weight training, spending extra hours in the gym, or balancing basketball with football, his commitment never changes. He understands that if he wants to become the leading scorer, leading rebounder, best defender, and help bring home a state championship, every workout has to matter. That daily commitment has become the foundation of everything he hopes to accomplish.
When nobody is watching, nothing changes. Zander attacks every workout with the same speed, intensity, and determination that he brings on game night. He refuses to coast, refuses to take plays off, and believes every rep is another chance to improve. That mindset continues to fuel his confidence and reminds him that success is earned long before the lights come on.
Every time Zander steps on the floor, he plays with something to prove. He believes coaches can count on an easy 20 points on any given night, but he also wants them to know his value goes far beyond scoring. Need rebounds, he'll battle for every one. Need defense, he'll gladly accept the toughest assignment. Need someone willing to outwork everybody else, he'll be the first one diving on the floor or fighting through contact. He may not be the tallest athlete on the court, but he plans on being the hardest-working one every single night.
As he prepares for his junior season, Zander has his sights set on much bigger goals than individual numbers. He wants to lead his team, chase a state championship, and help build an undefeated season through relentless effort, explosive scoring, tough defense, and leadership. If this past summer is any indication, there is every reason to believe his biggest moments are still waiting ahead.
I assess that Zander's biggest strength is his ability to put constant pressure on defenses in several different ways. His outside shooting has reached another level, his improved ball-handling allows him to create scoring opportunities, and he finishes through contact with confidence. Combine those skills with a relentless motor and a strong work ethic, and it's easy to see why his game continues to take major steps forward.
Zander has built strong momentum heading into his junior season after an outstanding summer with Indiana Impact. His confidence continues to grow because it is backed by consistent work, noticeable improvement, and production against good competition. As he continues developing physically and expanding every area of his game, expect him to become one of the driving forces behind his team's success while continuing to establish himself as one of the hottest scorers every time he steps on the floor. Stay tuned.
