Jellico HS, TN

Braydyn is a scrappy guard who thrives on energy and toughness. He sets the tone on defense from the start, bringing relentless effort to every possession. His ability to attack the rim and even play above it gives his team a spark, while his scrappiness and motor make him a constant threat throughout all four quarters. Coaches can count on him to play with 110% effort, battling for rebounds, hounding opponents, and setting an example with his fight.

This past season, Braydyn averaged 4 points, 2 assists, 3 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game. His biggest improvement came through his physical development and his growth as a leader, staying composed and mentally tough when his team was down. Though he set a personal goal of reaching 15 points per game and fell short, it only fueled his drive to keep pushing. In AAU, he showcased more of his offensive ability, averaging 12 points per game playing with kids from Fulton High School. His offseason focus now is on developing his jumpshot and reading defenses more effectively.

One of his proudest memories is helping Jellico make it to the district championship and region tournament, with his eyes now set on making a deeper playoff run and chasing a state tournament appearance like his team did two years ago. What fires him up most is when people doubt him and his team, motivating him to fight even harder. He embraces adversity by being the player his teammates can look to as an example of composure and effort. The best coaching advice he’s ever received came from his head coach, Mike Reynolds, who said, “Everyone can go score and do all the flashy stuff, but when adversity hits, who’s gonna go rebound and scrap.” That lesson has become the foundation of his game.

Off the court, Braydyn enjoys playing football and spending time with family and friends, showing the same loyalty and energy in life that he brings onto the basketball floor.

I assess that Braydyn’s energy, defensive commitment, and scrappy style make him the type of guard who can disrupt opponents and ignite his team. His relentless effort and ability to get to the rim provide a foundation for growth, while his leadership and toughness are abilities that will translate well at the next level.

As he continues to expand his scoring range and improve his ability to read defenses, Braydyn has the potential to become an even more complete guard. His willingness to embrace the dirty work while evolving his offensive bag gives him a high ceiling. Expect him to keep elevating his impact, leading his team by example, and proving his place as a key playmaker moving forward. Stay tuned for a breakout season ahead.
