"Rim Pressure, Floor Control, Winning Plays"

Stigler HS, OK

Jaxon plays the game with force and purpose. His bread and butter is getting to the rim, controlling the floor, and rebounding like it is personal. Even at his size, he attacks the paint without hesitation, plays through contact, and refuses to let bigger bodies dictate possessions. He has always been a point guard at heart, comfortable with the ball in his hands, reading the game, and understanding where he needs to be to help his team win. What stands out is his willingness to do the work that does not always show up first in the stat sheet.

That mindset pushed his growth forward. With another strong point guard already in place last season, Jaxon adjusted instead of forcing things. He lived in the gym, added close to 40 pounds of strength, grew physically, and reshaped his game. Spot-up shooting became a real weapon. Raining threes, rebounding out of his area, and finding different ways to impact the game allowed him to stay aggressive while still playing within the flow of the team.

The current season numbers reflect that evolution. Through 5 games, he is averaging 10.2 points per game while shooting 42.2 percent from the field and 45.6 percent effective field goal. He has been strong inside the arc at 47.1 percent on two-point attempts and has lived at the free throw line, going 10- 14 for 71.4 percent. His physical approach shows up on the glass with 25 total rebounds, including 22 on the defensive end. He has added 16 assists, 11 steals, and 10 deflections while posting a plus-35 plus-minus in 169 total minutes. A large chunk of his scoring has come in the paint, with 28 points generated there, reinforcing his rim pressure style.

Last week delivered one of his most complete performances in a win over Chouteau. He finished with 16 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block, impacting the game in every phase. Those are the nights that sum up his value. Scoring when needed, rebounding above his size, making plays for others, and bringing energy that swings momentum.

Defensively, Jaxon takes pride in guarding different styles. He stays active, disrupts passing lanes, and brings effort possession after possession. Adversity does not rattle him. When things go sideways, he locks in on what he can control. Hustle. Attitude. Communication. That approach showed again in the rematch against Sallisaw, where he focused on creating energy plays with blocks, steals, and timely shots while knowing there is more left to give next time.

Those habits line up with how he is viewed by his coaching staff. His work ethic, athleticism, ability to score at multiple levels, and unselfish approach are all traits that make him easy to trust on the floor. He continues to grow as a shooter, handler, and defender while staying grounded in team play.

Off the the court, Jaxon enjoys hanging out with friends and staying active. He has attended Arkansas Tech and ECU camps and remains without offers, but college basketball is very much on his radar as he continues to develop.

I assess that Jaxon brings toughness, rim pressure, and versatility to a program. His ability to rebound as a guard, attack the paint, and impact the game defensively gives him value beyond scoring. He plays with effort and intent, making him a reliable piece in competitive stretches.

Moving forward, continued shooting growth and consistency will raise his ceiling. With his physical edge, defensive activity, and understanding of the game, expect Jaxon to keep expanding his role and proving he can impact winning in multiple ways as competition increases. Stay tuned.
