Affy plays the game with a nonstop motor and an edge that shows up from the opening tip until the final horn. He is a gritty, fearless point guard who lives in attack mode, pushing the pace, pressuring the ball, and forcing opponents to match his intensity. His cardio and toughness fuel everything he does, allowing him to stay aggressive on both ends while never taking a possession off. A natural lefty who is comfortable with both hands, Affy slices his way into the lane with intent, using tight handles, strong body control, and sneaky bounce to elevate over defenders and finish through traffic. He sees the floor well, creates for teammates, rebounds far bigger than his size, and sets the tone with defensive pressure that wears teams down.
That impact has grown year after year, and the numbers tell a clear story. As a freshman starter, Affy averaged 10.3 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 2.8 steals, and 0.7 blocks per game while gaining valuable experience. As a sophomore, his growth exploded to 15.0 points, 5.9 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 2.0 steals, and 0.6 blocks per game, earning All-Conference, All-League, and Team MVP honors while helping his team make a significant step forward. Now in his junior season, Affy has taken another jump, averaging 21.1 points, 6.9 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 5.6 steals, and 0.8 blocks per game while helping lead his team to an 8 2 start. The progression shows a guard who keeps adding weapons while staying true to who he is.
The biggest improvement from last season has come through strength, speed, and smarter attacks. His work on footwork and rim pressure has made him more consistent finishing in traffic, and added strength has helped him absorb contact and still score. His defensive vision and quickness have turned into more steals, and his middy has taken steps forward as he continues to work toward greater consistency from all three levels. Affy puts in that work year-round, including in-season sessions with skills coach Tyler Lydon, staying committed to growth rather than comfort.
Team success always comes first for Affy. Winning, playing connected, and making the right play matter more than chasing numbers. That approach has allowed him to play freer, be a better teammate, and impact the game in every way possible. A personal milestone is within reach as well, as he is on pace to reach 1000 career points by the end of this season or early in his senior year, but even that goal is rooted in helping his team succeed.
What fuels him most are the moments that swing close games. A big stop, a timely bucket, or a hustle play that sparks the bench. Those plays fire him up because they push his team closer to winning. When facing adversity on the court, he stays composed, slows the game down, and makes quick decisions that benefit the group rather than letting emotion take over. Off the court, his family plays a major role in keeping him grounded, supported by his father, mother, and older brother through every high and low.
Affy is also a standout multi-sport athlete. He is a center fielder and left-handed pitcher in baseball, ranked nationally by Perfect Game as a college prospect, with All-Section honors and varsity starts since his freshman year. Baseball recruiting is currently more active, but the door remains open for basketball or even playing both at the next level, a decision he will make with his family as his love for both sports continues to drive him.
I assess that Affy’s relentless motor, defensive pressure, and ability to attack the rim make him a tone setter who can change the flow of a game. His versatility, toughness, and team-first mindset give a college program a guard who raises the floor through effort, energy, and winning plays.
Expect Affy to keep rising as his consistency from the mid-range and deep continues to grow. With his pace, strength, and competitive edge, he is poised to be a guard who thrives in big moments, impacts both ends, and keeps finding ways to help his team win as the stage gets bigger. Stay tuned.
