Maddox is a versatile wing whose game jumps off the page with power, edge, and confidence. He is electric in the open floor, sprinting lanes, and finishing with flair and flashy throw-downs. He gets downhill in a hurry, attacks the lane with force, and finishes through traffic or above the rim without hesitation. His smooth touch shows up on the middy, and from deep, and when defenses close hard, he stays aggressive instead of settling. He mixes it up on the boards, handles the ball well, and drops timely dimes that keep the offense flowing.

Defensively, he is scrappy on the ball, gritty in his approach, and plays every possession with a high motor and high IQ. Coaches know exactly what they are getting every time he steps on the floor: effort, toughness, and impact on both ends.

This season, Maddox is putting real numbers behind that impact, averaging 17 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 2 steals per game. His biggest improvement from last year has been his ability to finish in traffic, exploding downhill, and converting through and over defenders with consistency. His shooting has also taken a step forward as well, and he is becoming more intentional about looking for good shots while continuing to grow his range.

The goals are to win a district crown with his team while earning college attention and opening the door to the next level. What fuels his fire is being doubted. Night after night, his team is cast as the underdog, and Maddox thrives in that role, using it as motivation to show out every time he steps on the floor in a tough conference.

When facing adversity, he stays calm and leads vocally and by example, making sure everyone stays on the same page throughout the game. That leadership and steady presence have already drawn attention, with multiple D2 and D3 programs in the area staying in contact and tracking his progress.

I assess that Maddox brings an attacking wing presence with the mindset to pressure defenses and affect the game in multiple areas. His ability to run the floor, finish through contact, rebound his position, and compete defensively gives a college program a player who raises the physical and competitive tone.

As his ball-handling and shooting consistency continue to evolve, Maddox’s overall impact is poised to grow. Expect a high motor competitor who embraces big moments, responds to adversity with composure, and consistently finds ways to help a team win. Stay tuned.
