Cannon is a dynamic, hard-nosed wing with a fierce motor, soft touch, and a physical edge that makes him an absolute problem to contain. He’s the kind of matchup nightmare who can bruise defenders in the post or torch them from deep, pick poision. His footwork on the block is elite, his finishes through contact are fearless, and his back-to-the-basket game is pure art. But don’t sleep on the rest of his bag, he’s got slick handles, crafty counters, and a powerful frame that he uses like a weapon every time he slashes into the lane. Cannon plays the game with fire and intelligence, mixing physicality with IQ. He’s a tough-nosed defender who can guard 1 through 5, a willing passer who sees the floor well, and a glue guy who thrives in physical battles. Grit, grind, and versatility, he brings it all with purpose and pride.
This season, Cannon averaged 14 points and 5 rebounds per game, with his biggest improvement being his scoring efficiency and offensive rhythm compared to his freshman campaign. Playing varsity as a freshman prepared him to shine as a sophomore, as he developed his ability to get buckets at all three levels. He’s locked in this offseason on adding more consistency to his mid-range and developing smoother off-the-dribble shots to keep defenders off balance. What drives him is the confidence that came with being named a varsity captain and starter, proof that all the hours he put in last offseason are paying off. He’s hungry for growth and development, with his sights set on reaching the D1 level.
On the AAU circuit, Cannon is playing with Oakland Elite on the competitive NY2LA platform, and he's been electric. At the 2025 Next-Level Invitational, he lit it up with games of 20, 21, and a dominant 23-point, 6-rebound, 2-assist performance against a tough and skilled Hoops Tech squad. His summer goals are to keep evolving, gaining exposure, and testing his game against the best competition. He’s especially fired up for the Summer Jam in Milwaukee this June, a stage loaded with talent where he’s ready to shine. And while the roster may be younger next season after graduating several seniors, Cannon is excited to lead, push the pace, and help the next wave of teammates step into bigger roles.
Cannon feeds off hustle, extra-effort plays, diving on the floor, and grinding possessions that shift momentum. When facing adversity, he locks in on the preparation he’s put in and reminds himself of his readiness. His favorite advice is, “Make the next play.” That keeps him grounded, present, and focused no matter the moment. Off the court, Cannon loves watching basketball, playing the game he’s passionate about, and hitting the golf course to unwind.
I assess that Cannon is built for high-level impact. His strength, aggression off the bounce, post-game, shooting touch, and ability to guard multiple positions make him a massive asset in any lineup. He brings leadership, toughness, and a fearless mentality that coaches love, especially when the game gets gritty.
With his work ethic, skill development, and physical presence, Cannon is evolving into a dominant two-way wing with next-level potential. As he sharpens his shot creation and continues to elevate his craft, expect him to become one of Michigan’s most complete and dependable players in the 2027 class. Stay tuned.
