CJ has already built his game around doing the work that wins basketball games. He takes pride in playing hard every possession, attacking the boards, protecting the rim, and bringing energy from the opening tip until the final buzzer. Defense is where he feels most comfortable because he enjoys making life difficult for anyone who tries to score around the basket. Rebounding and blocking shots are the biggest strengths in his game right now, but he is just as focused on becoming a bigger offensive threat. That mindset says everything about who he is because even after a successful season, he is still chasing the next step instead of settling for where he is today.

This past season was all about growth 29 games, CJ averaged 7.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks while leading his team with 108 rebounds and 38 blocked shots. His biggest moments weren't built on scoring totals but on making winning plays when they mattered most. Whether it was grabbing a huge rebound, protecting the rim, changing shots, or making the defensive stop his team needed, he found ways to impact games that do not always show up in the spotlight. Those moments helped him earn recognition as one of Indiana's top 2029 prospects, an accomplishment he is proud of because it showed his hard work was paying off. At the same time, he knows rankings are only part of the journey, and they motivate him even more because he believes they do not determine where his story will end.

As the season moved along, CJ's game became much more complete. He finished around the basket with better efficiency, gained confidence scoring the basketball, and expanded his defensive versatility by becoming comfortable guarding the one, two, and three positions. Just as important, his confidence continued to grow as the game slowed down for him. He became more comfortable making decisions, understanding where he needed to be on the floor, and trusting his instincts instead of overthinking every possession. That combination allowed him to play faster, attack rebounds more aggressively, and make better use of his size around the rim.

One of the biggest lessons basketball has taught him came through adversity. There are nights when the shots aren't falling, the touches are limited, or things simply are not going your way, but CJ has learned those moments never have to define the game. Instead of letting frustration take over, he focuses on everything else he can control by defending, rebounding, blocking shots, communicating, running the floor, and bringing positive energy to his teammates. That mindset has helped him understand the value of staying confident, continuing to compete, and always being prepared when the next opportunity comes.

This offseason is focused on

taking another major step forward offensively. CJ has been putting in extra time improving his ball handling, controlling the basketball, and shooting with more confidence so he can become an even bigger scoring threat. His personal goal is to continue developing into a four- or five-star prospect during his sophomore season, but he understands those goals will only come through consistent work and steady improvement every single day.

The work behind the scenes reflects that commitment. He trains at No Days Off, spends extra time with his high school coach sharpening different parts of his game, works on his ball handling, and continues getting stronger through weight training along his dad. Every workout has a purpose because he knows success is built long before the games begin. What fuels his fire is the opportunity to keep growing as both a student and an athlete while proving to himself that his best basketball is still ahead of him.

Every coach can expect leadership, toughness, and someone who competes on both ends of the floor every time he checks into the game. CJ wants to defend every position, bring a winning mentality, and do whatever his team needs to come away with a victory. Whether that means protecting the paint, crashing the glass, making hustle plays, or stepping up offensively, he is willing to embrace every responsibility that comes his way.

This upcoming season, CJ wants everyone to see a more complete version of his game. He plans to work ten times harder in the classroom and on the court while leading his team toward a sectional championship and a run at the state title. More than anything, he wants his game to speak for itself through his effort, improvement, and the impact he makes every time he steps between the lines.

I assess that CJ already brings value with his rebounding, rim protection, defensive versatility, and willingness to do the dirty work. His confidence is growing, his understanding of the game continues to improve, and his ability to guard multiple positions gives him an exciting foundation to build from. As his offensive skills continue catching up with his defensive strengths, his overall impact should become even greater.

CJ has the tools to develop into a complete two-way force because he embraces hard work and never shies away from difficult assignments. His commitment to improving his handle, shooting, strength, and decision-making should continue opening new parts of his game while allowing him to remain a dominant presence around the basket.
