Cayleb is a smooth, skilled combo guard with a scorer’s mindset and a defender’s grit. He plays the game with calm control, slicing through defenders with a nasty handles and hitting shots from anywhere on the floor. A true three-level scorer, Cayleb doesn’t need flash; he gets buckets with poise, simplicity, and pace. Whether he’s pulling up from deep, finishing through traffic, or hitting a middy in stride, his game is smooth, efficient, and lethal. On the other end, he’s a defensive playmaker, leading his team in deflections and steals while locking down on the perimeter. His ability to read the floor, make timely plays, and score without forcing it is what separates him.
Cayleb averaged 16 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals per game as a sophomore, shooting 47% from the field and 37% from deep. His biggest improvement came in expanding his scoring bag, shifting from a catch-and-shoot threat to a complete offensive weapon. With teams pressing harder on his perimeter looks, he embraced the challenge and learned to score in new ways. This offseason, he's been focused on developing his handles and decision-making as he steps into more point guard responsibilities. With Wonderview losing an experienced lead guard, Cayleb is ready to lead both with his voice and his actions. He’s not just trying to fill a role, but ready to show why he’s a true combo guard, not just a scorer.
Earning All-State honors was a major goal, and hitting that mark proved his work didn’t go unnoticed, adding All-Conference.. Now, he’s got even more fire, determined to reach 1,000 career points, earn his first college offer, and make a serious playoff run with a team he calls “a brotherhood.” Though his AAU schedule was limited, Cayleb still turned heads in every tournament he played, including a 30-point explosion at the IGN Summer League in Conway and a 23-point, six-three performance in Clarksville. His confidence is validated by consistency, and he plays every game like he has something to prove, because he does. Coming from a small 1A school only fuels his edge. He walks on the court believing nobody there belongs with him, and he carries himself like it.
What drives Cayleb isn’t just the competition, but the dream of playing at the next level. That hunger shows in his discipline, his love for the grind, and his faith. After two tough early exits in the playoffs, he hasn’t backed down. He sees those moments as part of God’s bigger plan, and rather than fold under pressure, he works harder. His values and character shine through adversity, and he plays with a deep respect for the game. He doesn’t cheat the work. The best coaching advice he ever received is, “The orange ball knows everything.”
Off the court, Cayleb enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to church, and playing 2K on his PS5. But when the lights come on, it’s all business.
I assess that Cayleb’s ability to score from all areas, guard multiple positions, and carry himself with maturity and confidence makes him a complete backcourt piece. His steady progression, defensive instincts, and leadership make him an asset for any college program looking for impact on both ends.
As Cayleb grows into a larger role, expect him to thrive under the spotlight. With his combination of shooting, ball control, defensive effort, and basketball IQ, he’s positioning himself for a huge junior season and a future beyond Wonderview that’s only just beginning. Stay tuned for a monster season ahead.
