He uses his size to also be a relentless force on the biards and on defense. What separates Maccoy is his smooth command of tempo, court awareness, and ability to control the floor without being flashy. He can run the show or slide into a scoring role, always delivering with quiet confidence and next-level IQ. Coaches should know they’re getting a player who doesn’t just play with skill but plays with purpose.

This past season, Maccoy averaged 18.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, 5.2 assists, 1.2 steals, and nearly a block per game. His all-around production exploded thanks to his improved confidence with the ball in his hands, shifting from a traditional off-ball role into a primary handler who could initiate, create, and lead. That position switch from a 2/3 to a 1/2 has opened up his game and elevated his stock. Now, heading into a crucial offseason, his focus is on building his body, increasing his strength, and becoming more physical through contact. Consistency is the standard he’s chasing,grinding to perform with the same level of efficiency and impact that college players bring every night. What’s motivated him most are the national camps and opportunities to compete outside Arizona, where he’s continued to turn heads and show he belongs on a bigger stage.

This AAU season, Maccoy is playing with FOH and is especially locked in on the Peach Invitational and the elite-level action at OTE, which are key moments to test himself against high-major talent. He thrives in those environments, especially when his mom is in his ear pushing him to elevate his pace. Off the court, Maccoy stays grounded through his faith, using prayer and perspective to push through adversity and stay centered. The best advice he’s received is to never forget who he is, no matter how loud the outside noise gets. That mindset keeps him steady, focused, and dangerous every time he laces up.

I assess that Maccoy offers a rare blend of size, feel, and control that makes him an ideal fit for modern systems looking for multi-position playmakers.
