Tyson is a dynamic, high-motor threat with the ball in his hands, an electric three-level scorer with nasty handles, bounce, and a smooth touch that punishes defenders who give him any space. His speed off the bounce is flat-out dangerous, slashing through defenses like a blade and finishing plays with touch and control. But what really separates him is his vision. He reads the floor like a savvy vet and delivers dimes in stride, forcing defenses to pick their poison. And just when you think his game is all flash and firepower, he flips the script, bringing gritty, relentless, scrappy defense. Tyson is the kind of two-way beast every coach dreams of, explosive on offense, fearless and physical on defense, and smart enough to impact both sides of the floor.
After a solid season averaging 12 points, 3 assists, and 2 rebounds per game, Tyson took things up a notch down the stretch, ending the year with a 17-point-per-game average. His biggest improvement came in his mindset and finishing ability, becoming more aggressive at the rim and embracing contact with purpose. One of his proudest moments came in the playoffs when he exploded for 27 points in the first half alone, nearly setting a school scoring record before the final buzzer. But he’s not done. This offseason, Tyson is locked in on building mass, growing his game as a playmaker, and continuing to dominate in AAU action. So far, he's been unstoppable, with multiple MVP and Player of the Game awards this summer while averaging over 15 points and leading his team in steals. Coaches have taken notice.
Tyson plays with Racine Truth, a squad that just got bumped up from the 3SGB circuit to the 3SSB level. They’re heading to South Carolina to battle elite programs, and Tyson is more than ready. Already earning back-to-back “Top Performer” honors in the 3SSB Gold division, he’s proving every weekend that he belongs on the national radar. He recently poured in 16 points in a Midwest Classic Showcase win and continues to be the driving force behind his team’s success. His fire burns even brighter when he sees other players getting college offers he knows he deserves. That chip fuels everything, from his explosive offense to his vocal leadership and defensive intensity. He’s not trying to play like anyone else. He plays at his own speed and makes opponents adjust to him.
Off the court, Tyson handles adversity with poise, communicates strategy with teammates, and keeps his focus on what matters most, improvement and winning. When he’s not on the court, you can catch him outside fishing or golfing, recharging while staying competitive. But make no mistake, this kid is all in on playing college basketball, and he’s determined to earn that scholarship with every rep, every stop, and every shot.
I assess that Tyson brings a lethal combination of offensive firepower and defensive grit that translates directly to winning basketball. His quickness, decision-making, and competitive edge make him a nightmare matchup and a trusted leader on the court. He’s built to impact both ends and elevate a college program with his nonstop motor and fearless mentality.
With his rising stock and relentless work ethic, expect Tyson to keep climbing. His playmaking and shot-making will only get stronger as he adds physical strength and continues to shine on the national stage. He’s already making waves, now it’s only a matter of time before the offers follow. Stay tuned for a statement performance ahead.
