Committed to California University of Pennsylvania
Luke’s commitment to California University of Pennsylvania is about basketball, family, and a place he already knows well. His father is the head coach, and Luke has watched the coaches, teachers, and strength staff help young men grow while chasing wins. That closeness makes Cal feel like home, and Luke is excited to earn his place with the team as the Vulcans pursue a national championship.
He knows what he wants to bring to the court. Luke plays with a fierce competitive edge, makes the right pass, sets strong screens, and can hit shots when his team needs them. He wants to win loose balls, take charges, and keep talking so his teammates know what is happening. For him, playing hard is a skill, and he plans to bring that energy even on the toughest days.
His family has been beside him throughout the decision. Luke’s mom and brothers have supported him, while years of watching his dad coach have shown him what will be expected at Cal. He looks forward to growing under his father’s guidance and working toward something special together. Faith has given the choice even deeper meaning for Luke. He believes God called him to this path, and he wants his identity to stay rooted in Him as basketball opens new doors.
Luke knows the journey has brought hard moments. When doubt or adversity comes, he tries to stay focused, trust the process, and keep fighting for what matters to him. That outlook will shape his senior season, when he hopes to enjoy every moment while chasing an OVAC title and a state championship. He also plans to get stronger and sharpen how quickly and confidently he shoots. After working with Cal’s strength coach for the past two years, Luke is looking forward to continuing that relationship when he reaches campus.
He has watched Vulcan players Brent Pegram, Jermaine Hall, Preston Boswell, Donald Whitehead, and KJ McClurg, and the intensity they brought has stayed with him. Luke wants coaches and fans to see that same hunger from him whenever he steps on the court. His advice to younger athletes is to outwork the doubt, believe in who they can become, and enjoy the journey while putting in the work. Now he's ready to join the Vulcan family and build something with the guys he will soon call teammates.
Luke has a way of giving a possession purpose before the ball ever reaches his hands. His timing, court awareness, and willingness to make the unselfish decision can help an offense find its flow. He brings the mindset of a player who values the small actions that let everyone else shine.
The connection Luke already has to Cal gives this commitment a personal spark, and his desire to grow with the program gives it lasting meaning. His belief in the people beside him and his determination to chase big goals make his arrival one the Vulcans can welcome with real enthusiasm.
