6'8, Class of 2028

Dundee, Scotland

Callum Krzyzanowski brings a mix of energy, shooting, defense, and versatility that gives him several ways to impact a basketball game without needing everything built around him. The Grove Academy student plays his basketball for the Dundee Madsons, where his ability to make shots consistently is matched by an active defensive presence and a willingness to adjust to whatever role is needed. Callum sees himself as someone who can fit into different situations, and that mindset shows through the way he approaches both ends of the floor. He can stretch a defense with his jumper, battle through possessions on the other end, and find ways to make himself valuable even when the ball is not in his hands.

This season has given Callum a chance to show more of that complete game, averaging 16 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 assists per game. One of his biggest opportunities came when he earned an offer to travel to Myrtle Beach and play AAU basketball at Big Shots, where his team won the U16 tournament championship. His biggest moment came with pressure staring him right in the face, and instead of backing away from it, he rained a clutch three with only seconds remaining to put his team ahead. That shot gave a glimpse of the confidence behind his jumper and his willingness to take charge when a possession matters most.

The growth in Callum's game has come through becoming more selective with his shot selection and stronger with his defensive positioning. He's learned how to read situations better instead of just reacting, which has helped him become steadier throughout games. Those improvements connect directly to an obstacle He's had to solve throughout his basketball journey because he doesn't consider himself as athletic as many of the opponents he faces. Rather than allowing that difference to hold him back, he's leaned harder into thinking the game, making careful decisions and understanding where he needs to be before an advantage develops. That approach has helped him turn awareness into a weapon on both sides of the ball.

His offseason work has focused on the weight room as he pushes to add muscle and prepare his body for a more physical style of basketball. That work becomes even more important when Callum looks to play in America because he understands the game there comes with a faster pace and more aggression than what he currently sees in Scotland. Instead of waiting until he arrives to make that adjustment, he's already started training himself to operate quicker while maintaining control and making smart choices. He believes his height combined with his ability to shoot can open the floor in different environments, giving an offense another threat while allowing him to contribute beyond what shows up on the stat sheet.

Behind everything Callum is building are early mornings and late nights spent chasing improvement. His goal of playing professional basketball gives that work direction, while making his family proud provides another source of fire when the workouts become difficult. He wants each day to leave him better than he was before, and that mentality has created a grind that doesn't depend on anyone watching or giving him credit. The work happens because he understands where he wants basketball to take him and how much has to be poured into reaching that destination.

When a coach puts Callum on the floor, the effort isn't supposed to change with his mood, the score, or the circumstances around him. He's willing to handle the dirty work, fight through demanding possessions, and give everything he has to the job placed in front of him. That willingness matters because basketball doesn't always reward the biggest scorers, and Callum has embraced finding value in areas that help his team function while staying ready when his number is called.

Callum's strongest calling card is the combination of perimeter firepower and defensive awareness he brings to a lineup. His jumper forces opponents to respect him away from the basket, while his understanding of spacing allows him to find areas where he can punish a defense for losing track of him. On the opposite end, he uses anticipation and discipline to stay connected instead of depending on just raw physical tools. There's also a toughness to his approach that shows in his willingness to take assignments that require effort, patience, and sacrifice rather than attention.

Callum has a foundation that can translate well as the competition becomes quicker and more physical because his game is built on skills that travel. His ability to adjust gives him flexibility within different systems, while his feel for what's happening around him helps him succeed when an opponent has an advantage in pure explosiveness. Continued development of his body, quicker decision-making against pressure and the ability to create open looks against aggressive defenders can raise his ceiling even more. What stands out most is that he understands exactly where growth is needed and has already begun attacking those areas, giving him a clear path to becoming a dangerous two-way presence wherever basketball takes him.
