5’5, 107lbs, Class of 2028

Golda Meir High School, WI

Amari is a fierce, fast-paced guard who brings relentless energy and a fearless mentality every time he steps on the court. Though he is just 5’5, he makes up for what he lacks in size with blazing speed, elite

vision, tough perimeter defense, and a mentality built for pressure. Whether he’s locking up opposing guards on or off the ball or splashing deep threes, Amari plays with confidence and edge. He creates plays with purpose, sees the floor well, and thrives when the tempo picks up. Coaches looking for a backcourt spark plug with tenacity and toughness will find all that and more in Amari.

Last season, Amari averaged 16.8 points, 7.4 assists, 3.7 steals, and 3.2 rebounds on JV while contributing 5.2 points, 3.9 assists, and a steal per game at the varsity level. The jump to varsity ball was his most impactful moment, it pushed his confidence to another level and gave him a taste of the bigger stage he’s ready to chase. This offseason, he’s locked in on off-balance midrange shots like fadeaways, improving interior defense, and building the strength to finish through contact and better control the pace of the game.

He’s playing with Royal Flush Elite for AAU, aiming to climb the rankings and start building relationships with college coaches. One of the events he’s most looking forward to is the 3SSB tournament in California, a big stage where he plans to show he belongs. His focus heading into next season is making an impact as a full-time varsity contributor, and there’s no doubt he’s putting in the work to earn that spot.

What lights the fire in him is that first made shot, it flips a switch and gets him rolling. But even when shots aren’t falling, he never loses his composure. Amari knows how to keep his emotions in check, how to lead with effort, and how to move on to the next play without letting mistakes linger. One of the best pieces of advice he’s ever received is, "Basketball is a long line to greatness. Stay in the line, be consistent, work hard, stay disciplined, and you’ll move forward. Step out, and someone will take your place." Amari lives by that truth and refuses to be outworked.

Off the court, he enjoys working out and traveling with friends, finding balance between the grind and the joy of making memories. He’s grounded, motivated, and determined to turn every opportunity into a statement.

I assess that Amari is a gritty, high-energy guard who defends with purpose and creates offense with confidence. His ability to disrupt opponents, push the pace, and play with poise gives him strong potential. As he builds strength and adds more scoring versatility, he becomes even more valuable as a two-way leader.

Amari’s work ethic, mentality, and defensive motor make him a name to watch in the Class of 2028. Expect continued growth, rising confidence, and more impact at the varsity level as he keeps grinding, developing, and holding his spot in that long line to greatness. Stay tuned.
