Hudson is a shifty and electric guard who thrives on controlling tempo and dictating pace. His strong ball handling, quick decision making, and explosive change of speed make him a constant threat with the ball in his hands. He can pull up on a dime from deep or slice into the lane with balance and control, finishing through contact with crafty precision. His elite court vision allows him to deliver dazzling dimes that keep defenders guessing, and he has the instincts to find open teammates even in tight coverage. Hudson’s basketball IQ and awareness stand out as he reads the floor like a seasoned point guard, always one step ahead of the defense. Defensively, he’s a sneaky two-way gem with quick hands, anticipation, and the ability to jump passing lanes to create turnovers and transition opportunities. Whether attacking, facilitating, or leading, Hudson plays with confidence, poise, and an undeniable spark that elevates everyone around him.
At the NYBA Coach K Combine, Hudson proved exactly why he’s a name to know. His pace, patience, and creativity with the ball caught everyone’s attention. He showcased his ability to break down defenders with his handle, create off the dribble, and control the rhythm of the game. Every possession ran through him as he set teammates up with precision and scored when needed, showing maturity and command beyond his age. In the three-point shooting segment, he was lethal, raining in three after three. That smooth jumper and ability to hit shots from deep kept defenders honest, while his quick first step left many frozen. Hudson’s composure and leadership stood out most as he played with energy and confidence, earning respect with every possession.
This past season, Hudson suited up as a freshman and dressed all the way to state, gaining valuable experience that fueled his development. His focus this offseason has been on elevating his jump shot and pushing his three-point percentage above 40 percent, along with improving touch around the rim and footwork in traffic. Those hours of gym work have started to pay off, showing in his consistency and confidence. He takes pride in leading with energy and keeping his teammates engaged while setting the tone defensively and vocally. Coaches can always expect him to bring leadership, hustle, and an unselfish mindset, willing to dive on the floor for every loose ball and do whatever it takes to win.
Hudson’s goals are big, and his motivation runs deep. Competing on the AAU circuit with NYBA Elite, he helped his team reach the world championship game, finishing second but learning the value of resilience and trust. Playing against top talent has strengthened his competitive fire, and the drive to prove himself as an underrated and overlooked player keeps him pushing forward. He trusts his work, his teammates, and his process, blocking out outside noise while striving to rise above expectations. His coach’s advice to “control what you can control” continues to guide him, helping him stay calm, focused, and steady in pressure moments.
Off the court, Hudson enjoys hanging out with friends, watching basketball and football, and playing pickup games whenever he gets the chance. He loves the game and is hungry for any opportunity to take it to the next level, knowing that his leadership, vision, and work ethic will open doors in time. Smooth, confident, and driven, Hudson plays with the kind of purpose that defines future leaders of the game.
I assess that Hudson is a high-IQ guard with the tools to excel at any level. His combination of leadership, shooting ability, quickness, and court awareness makes him a complete floor general who can both score and elevate those around him. Coaches can rely on him to bring intensity, composure, and creativity to every game.
Expect Hudson to continue developing into one of Kentucky’s most promising young guards. His growth in shooting, control, and leadership shows he’s ready to take command of his team and guide them toward big moments. Confident, unselfish, and focused, he’s the kind of player who thrives when the pressure is highest. Stay tuned to see just how high he flies.
