5’11, 155lbs, Class of 2028

The Harvey School, NY

Luke is a crafty, high-IQ guard with an elite feel for the game well beyond his years. A lefty shot-maker with smooth touch from deep, he can pick apart defenses with his court vision, ball-handling, and timely dimes. His combination of scoring efficiency, leadership, and defensive toughness separates him from others at his position. He’s not just running the show; he’s orchestrating it. Luke has a mix of patience and flair, keeping defenders guessing whether he’ll pull up for three, slice into the lane, or thread the needle with a dime. Coaches should know that when Luke steps on the court, they’re getting a floor general who brings energy, composure, and a high basketball IQ every single possession.

The numbers don't lie, but paint a clear picture of his impact. As a freshman on JV before his injury, Luke averaged a jaw-dropping 27 points, 9 assists, and 5 steals per game in just four games before breaking his ankle. Instead of letting it slow him down, he turned adversity into fuel, dropping 25 pounds since May, adding 5 inches to his vertical, and transforming his body to match his goals. His biggest improvement this summer has been evolving from a scoring guard into a true point guard, investing countless hours into ball-handling and film study to develop elite vision and decision-making. This AAU season, his goal was exposure, and he delivered, earning multiple standout write-ups from Made Hoops and proving himself as one of the top young guards on the circuit while playing up for Rens United MHC and finishing the season with NY Wiz Kids 3SSB.

Adversity has shaped Luke into who he is today. The broken ankle was a turning point, when his father pushed him into the weight room, it lit a fire that hasn’t stopped burning. He thrives on competition, feeding off the energy of his teammates and even the noise from trash talkers, learning to play like he’s back in the backyard where his love for the game started. He carries with him the words of his first hard-nosed coach, who said, “You got a jump shot, but what else?” From that moment, Luke dedicated himself to becoming the complete package, and today his game is built on more than just shooting, but leadership, playmaking, toughness, and a non-stop motor.

This coming high school season, Luke is looking to earn valuable varsity minutes for his school, fresh off a NEPSAC Championship run. His role will be to make shots, facilitate, and steady the offense, but he’s also determined to make an impact defensively with his energy and quick hands. Beyond that, his AAU future is loaded with opportunities, as multiple programs are contacting him for next season. Luke has options and the ability to succeed on any high-level circuit because of the consistency, confidence, and team-first attitude he brings every time out.

Luke’s mix of high IQ, efficient shooting, and unselfish playmaking gives him the ability to elevate any program as both a scorer and a facilitator. His willingness to lead, battle defensively, and make others better ensures he will thrive in structured systems. He can command a game with poise and creativity while energizing those around him.

Luke’s rapid physical development and transition into a complete point guard point toward tremendous upside. Expect him to keep growing into a versatile floor general who can punish defenses with shooting, orchestrate with vision, and lead from the front with resilience. His potential to balance scoring and distributing makes him a guard to watch closely in the 2028 class, one whose ceiling is still rising. His best basketball is still ahead of him. Stay tuned for a breakout season ahead.
