6’5” – 6’11” wingspan, Class of 2026
Jackson Co. HS (Class 2A), TN
Will McCrary is a player who doesn’t need flash to leave an impact, and his game speaks volumes on its own. A powerful and efficient 6’5” wing with an incredible 6’11” wingspan, Will is a double-double machine who dominates with size, feel, and IQ. He’s got polished footwork, a soft touch around the rim, and a lethal three-level scoring ability that’s only getting better. He moves fluidly for his size, beats defenders with sneaky quickness, and never forces a shot. Add in his dominant rebounding presence and high-level passing, and you’ve got a player who quietly controls every game he’s in. He’s not the guy dancing above the rim, but he is the guy dropping 20 and 10 without breaking rhythm.
This past season, Will lit it up from deep, knocking down 50% from three and making major improvements and becoming a more complete offensive weapon. Will’s junior season was nothing short of dominant, finishing with 700 points, 328 rebounds, 66 blocks, 52 assists, and 33 steals while shooting 57% from the field, 50% from three, and 73% from the free throw line. His consistent production earned him District 5-2A MVP, District Tournament 5-2A MVP, and Region Tournament 3-AA MVP honors. He was named to the All-State Tournament Team and selected for the TSWA All-State Boys 2A Team. Will was also recognized as a four-time BCAT Player of the Week, a BCAT Player of the Year finalist, and was honored as the Tennessean Player of the Week.
Now, he’s focused on improving his handle and versatility so he can slide into a true wing role. He’s already shown he can battle down low or stretch the floor next up is being able to run offense and attack consistently from the perimeter. His impact helped Jackson County reach the state Final Four, a moment that fueled his hunger to go all the way and bring home the gold ball next season. No matter how many double or triple teams are thrown at him, he stays composed and continues to produce, finding ways to beat pressure and make his teammates better.
He proudly represents the Tennessee Tigers on the AAU circuit, playing both the 3 and 4 while embracing the opportunity to expand his game. Will is looking forward to proving himself on big stages like the Bob Gibbons Tournament, where he’ll get to show his full toolkit in front of college coaches. His favorite advice is "Outwork everyone". That mindset, combined with his size and skill, makes him one of the most underrated problems in the state.
But above all, Will gives all glory to God.
He is unashamed in his love for Jesus Christ and quick to acknowledge that none of his success would be possible without Him. Will's faith isn’t just part of his life, it’s the foundation. He plays with peace, grace, and gratitude, knowing his strength, gifts, and purpose come directly from his Lord and Savior. Every point, rebound, and victory is an opportunity to honor God. His journey is a testimony, and his impact stretches far beyond basketball. Will's character, humility, and drive are rooted in faith and it shows in everything he does.
I assess that Will brings rare size, efficient scoring, and a versatile skill set that translates across multiple positions. His ability to rebound, score from anywhere, and quietly dominate a game makes him an ideal fit for programs looking for a high-IQ forward with upside and toughness. Shades of Larry Bird.
As Will continues to improve his handle and expand his role on the perimeter, expect him to evolve into more of a true mismatch nightmare. His calm presence, strong foundation, and unshakable faith give him the tools to not only succeed but lead. With the right fit, he’s going to be a major force at the next level. As Will's development progresses, more and more, his potential to chase something special on this level and the next skyrocket, and it will be fun to see just how high he can fly. Stay tuned.
