Ryan plays with grit, heart, and relentless energy, sacrificing his body, doing the dirty work, and setting the tone on the defensive end. He’s a true hustle-first competitor who thrives on making plays that don’t always show up on the stat sheet, like diving on the floor, locking down on the perimeter, crashing the glass, and creating chaos with deflections and steals. Offensively, he picks his spots wisely, knocking down open shots when needed and attacking the rim with toughness through contact. He plays within the system, moves without the ball, and doesn’t force the issue, always looking to make the right play.

This past season, Ryan averaged 6 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2 steals per game while serving as one of Riverdale’s most consistent lockdown defenders. His biggest improvement came on the defensive end, where he fully embraced the role and became a disruptive force every night. His pride in staying in front, contesting shots, and going after the opponent’s best player helped spark team momentum in critical moments. One of the turning points of the season came during an early upset win, after a tough start, that victory set off a winning streak and helped the group rally together, giving Ryan a deeper appreciation for what it means to grind as one unit.

This offseason, his focus is on tightening his handles and developing more confidence as a shooter, especially off the dribble and from beyond the arc. He’s determined to become more well-rounded while staying true to his identity of a tough, unselfish, and effort-driven. A coach can expect a player who gives 100% on every possession, cutting hard, defending with purpose, rebounding on both ends, and staying mentally locked in. He doesn’t need the spotlight; he just wants to win.

Ryan describes his game as gritty, and that grit shows up in every possession. He’s fired up by defense, whether it’s a block, a big stop, or a teammate diving for a loose ball. When facing adversity, he trusts his teammates, stays composed, and keeps pushing forward. With some new changes coming to the coaching staff, he’s looking forward to a fresh start, tighter chemistry, and the chance to continue building toward something special.

Off the court, Ryan values his faith, family, and friendship. He keeps his circle tight, his focus sharp, and his effort unmatched.
