Gridiron Genius: The Multifacated Maestro of the Field

Writer: Kevin MosesKevin Moses

Canaan Beltz @mnversatility0 ,  @MrVersatilityBeltz on IG & TikTok, 5'9, 160 c/o 29 from Minneapolis, MN is a dynamic little play maker that can beat you with his arm or with his feet. Mr Versatility is not an over statement cause Canaan can play wherever. He can pass, catch, run, and block with the passion to do it better than the guy before him and the guy after him. ICanaan loves to play QB and WR the most, but has been a G, T, TE, DE, DT, LB, S, RB, FB you name it , he's played it in game and done my job well. With nice touch on his passes but more than capable of pulling it down bursting out of the backfield and down the sideline for some nice breakaway speed. Canaan's size is yet another weapon he uses to punish anyone in front of him. , a load to contain.

Canaan's stats for last season: Slot Receiver for the Twin City Bengals made 14 rec for 240 yds, 4 TDs and 2xp rec . His team went 4-2 team record, Made semi final round of playoffs for SSYFL Minnesota . So far 12u Spring season stats playing

QB for the Minnesota Jays (currently playing) , through 5 games: Canaan has gone 9 for 13 on completions for 330 yds and 5 TDs with 3 XP passes. Currently 3-2 for the spring season with 5 weeks to go.   Canaan's biggest improvement from last season was his successful transition from WR to QB. It took weeks of training with some of the best coaches in MN to get to where he is now. Still working on getting better daily. So far ICanaan has been selected as D1 All American for Minnesota twice(10u, 12u) and was Defensive MVP of the 11u Purple and Gold MPFL Showcase at US Bank Stadium 2022, 11U Champion Westside Classic Des Moines Iowa 2022. 11u Runner up Battle For Rocky Top 2022. Winner, D1 12u Spring Battle in the Mountains 2024. Will be defending his teams D1 Spring National Championship Title in Canton Ohio the end of June.

Canaan's complete understanding of the game sets him apart from other QBs at m his level. He approaches games as much from the perspective of a coach as Ihe does a player. Playing so many positions over the past 5 years has given him a lot of insight and perspective.   Every time he takes the field, it's time to work. Every rep counts and every day you take off, someone is out working you. Canaan expects full commitment and accountability from his team at all times and as a leader he sets the tone in both areas.Winning definitely fuels his fire. Canaan has been playing for Championships his whole life. Every season that's the goal.. Been close three times now and determined he will put in the work and find a way to lead his team to real that goal . The most motivating thing for Canaan from last season to now was being recruited by the best team in his state, the Minnesota Jays. It was at WR, which Ihe still plays occasionally, but they believed in him during my transition to QB and it's going great. Canaan handle adversity by leaning on his support system , his dad, his step mom, his grandparents, his aunt and uncles they all have his back and have been there to help mhim manage all the toughest times in his life. Hard work solves most problems

Canaan definitely sees himself playing D1, hopefully for Coach Leipold at KU to live another dream.. He is open to all offers though, seeing great players from JUCO all the way up to D1 and Ihe really just wants to play for a reputable program and continue to build his football knowledge . My assessment is this kid has an incredible football IQ with such a tremendous  versatile skill set he can be a program changer at whatever position he sets his mind to play . Canaaans whole mentality is far beyond his years and his passion to learn and win are a fierce combination that will take him as far as he wants to go. .Keep a watchful eye on this young star. Great things ahead.
