This young guard is entering high school already carrying the mindset of a leader and the skill set of a floor general. A true dual-sport athlete, he’s a confident shooter and gifted playmaker who sees the floor like a savvy vet. He plays unselfishly but with purpose, always looking to make the right read, and already understands one of the most valuable truths in basketball: a pass is faster than the dribble. That IQ alone puts him ahead of most in basketball today. But what really makes him stand out is the way he responds to pressure. When the trash talk starts flying, he doesn’t get rattled but breathes, locks in, and lets his game speak louder than words.
Though he’s an incoming freshman with no high school stats yet, the hunger is already there. Competing with Mudville Elite 15U on the Puma Circuit, he’s been working hard this summer to improve his handles and get more comfortable attacking off the bounce. His goal isn’t just to fit in but to compete, lead, and win. He knows he's not always the best player on the floor, but that only fuels him to work harder. Every rep is about getting better, getting tougher, and making sure he’s ready for high school ball when the lights come on.
This summer isn’t about a single big tournament but about every moment during live periods, every opportunity to grow, and every chance to learn. What fires him up most is when his team locks in, when his teammates are talking, competing, and having his back. That team-first mentality, mixed with the edge of a multi-sport competitor, is exactly what coaches love in young talent. He’s learning, evolving, and building confidence with every possession.
I assess that with great instincts, a smooth shot, and an unselfish mindset, this young hooper has the tools to be a lead guard at the next level. His understanding of tempo, spacing, and team play, especially at this early stage, is rare. Coaches can expect a kid who listens, competes, and plays with poise.
As his ball-handling continues to develop and he grows into a bigger role, this dual-sport athlete is set to become one of the more complete guards in his class. Expect him to make serious noise in high school. He’s built for the moment, and he’s only getting started. Stay tuned to see just how high he can fly.
