Gilbert is a relentless force, a high-energy playmaker who thrives on pressure and delivers in big moments. His explosive first step and fierce physicality make him a nightmare for defenders, while his ability to wave through traffic with control and crafty moves allows him to finish at the rim with ease. He’s quick to react, aggressive in his approach, and always thinking a step ahead. Every possession is an opportunity to attack, whether he’s pushing the tempo, locking in on defense, facilitating plays with a steady hand. His style is electric, his mindset fearless, and his impact undeniable.

Averaging 10.4 points per game on 47.8% shooting from two-point range, Gilbert knows how to find his spots and capitalize. While his three-point percentage (22.7%) is an area for improvement, his ability to take care of the ball and make smart decisions keeps his team in control. This season, confidence has been his biggest improvement. Gilbert, no loner, second-guesses himself. He’s vocal, engaged, and stepping into a leadership role, making sure his presence is felt on and off the ball. His ability to take over when it matters most was on full display in a recent fourth-quarter surge, where he kept his team in the fight with clutch layups and fast-paced execution, leading to a double-digit victory. This offseason, Gilbert’s focus is locked in on tightening his ball handling and improving his shooting to round out his offensive arsenal.

Without an AAU season this summer, all eyes are on the high school season ahead, and Gilbert’s mission is to get to the playoffs. It’s been a long time since his team has made that kind of run, and he’s determined to change the culture. Every extra rep, every late-night workout, and every moment spent fine-tuning his craft is fueled by that hunger. He thrives on defensive intensity, feeding off the energy of a forced turnover or a big stop. Scoring is just part of the equation, but changing the momentum with his defensive effort is what truly fuels his fire.

Off the court, Gilbert values relationships, understanding that chemistry and connection translate to success on the floor. When facing adversity, he doesn’t let it shake him. Gilbert stays calm, stays quiet, and keeps pushing forward, refusing to let setbacks define him. The best advice he’s ever received is “Stay quiet and move forward.” And that’s exactly how he operates, letting his game do all the talking.

I assess that Gilbert’s quickness, strength, and ability to control the game make him a valuable asset for any college program seeking a guard who can push the pace, handle pressure, and bring a defensive edge. His decision-making and ball security already set him apart, and as his confidence and perimeter shooting continues to improve, his ceiling only rises. His work ethic speaks for itself, and with the playoffs in his sights, expect him to leave everything on the floor. The future is wide open, and with his relentless drive, there’s no telling how far he can go. If he can evolve and expand that three-point efficiency, his versatility and offensive arsenal will cause his stock to skyrocket with all he already brings and be a next-level potential stud that will thrive in any program. Stay tuned.
