6'2, Class of 2025

Cleveland HS, TN

We call him Rain Man for a reason. When Maguire Evans gets hot, the storm is coming, buckets from beyond the arc pouring down in rhythm with a silky, effortless touch. He doesn’t just shoot the three, he rains them in from everywhere with unlimited range and accuracy. But that’s only part of the electric, all-around game that earned this dynamic guard his shot at D1 basketball.

Now signed to Tennessee Tech, Maguire’s path from overlooked homeschooler to D1 athlete is the ultimate storm warning to every coach who ever counted him out. He’s a crafty playmaker with elite court vision, a strong handle, and the kind of IQ you can’t teach. He slices defenses apart with dazzling dimes and fearless drives, all while locking up on the defensive end with relentless energy. Coaches aren’t just getting a shooter, they’re getting a complete weapon.

Getting here wasn’t easy. From the time he was four years old, Maguire was obsessed with the dream of playing D1 basketball and dancing in March Madness. That dream fueled thousands of late-night workouts, extra hours in empty gyms, and a heart that never stopped believing, no matter how many doors stayed shut. Being homeschooled meant constantly having to prove himself. The basketball world wasn’t ready to give him credit, so he earned it anyway.

Playing for his dad and the Chattanooga Patriots, Maguire exploded onto the scene, ranking in the top 10 in the nation in both threes made and assists. His game spoke for itself, an elite shooter and selfless floor general who knew how to lead. But even with those accolades, the next level still wasn’t guaranteed. So he doubled down, transferred to Cleveland High School, and stepped right into the fire, once again betting on himself.

AAU gave him the platform to show just how lethal he could be. Whether it was Chicago, Arizona, or anywhere else, Maguire brought his storm with him, competing against the best, dropping dimes, and raining in threes in bunches. Coaches finally started taking notice. Then came that first offer. And then the one that mattered most, Tennessee Tech.

He didn’t choose it for hype. He chose it because it felt like home. “No other school has felt like that to me yet,” Maguire said. “It was good to have a clear head making that decision.” Now, he’s ready to take on whatever role the coaches ask. The play style fits his strengths perfectly, and he’s locked in on helping his new team win.

Maguire Evans brings a unique edge to Tennessee Tech, an elite shooter with deep range, but also a smart, high-IQ guard who elevates everyone around him. His ability to stretch the floor, read defenses, and deliver on both ends makes him a perfect weapon in the modern game. He’s a coach’s dream: tough, unselfish, and battle-tested. Expect him to make an immediate impact as a floor spacer, facilitator, and vocal competitor.

What’s ahead for Maguire is a storm of potential. He’s far from finished growing, and with the structure and competition of the D1 level, his game is primed to explode even further. Expect him to be a playmaker, shot-creator, and leader who thrives in big moments. He’s gone from the shadows to the spotlight, and he’s ready to shine even brighter. Rain Man has arrived. And he’s bringing the storm with him. Stay tuned as this storybook journey just turned the page and its time to watch the next chapter unfold.
