Champmanville Regional HS, WV

Cooper is the kind of football player every coach wants in the locker room, and every teammate wants beside him when the game is on the line. His game is built on toughness, trust, preparation, and a fierce commitment to doing whatever the team needs to win. Whether he is flying downhill to make a tackle, forcing a turnover, carrying the football, or handling responsibilities that may never make the highlight reel, Cooper attacks every snap with the same relentless mindset. He is a physical, versatile competitor who brings energy, leadership, and dependable play to every phase of the game. While others may chase attention, Cooper chases opportunities to impact winning, and that team-first approach has helped make him one of the driving forces behind his team's success.

A perfect 10-0 regular season does not happen by accident, and Cooper understands exactly how much work, sacrifice, and trust it took to accomplish something so special. The season was filled with memorable moments, hard-fought battles, and a group of teammates committed to something bigger than themselves. Cooper made his presence felt through tackles, forced fumbles, interceptions, and timely plays whenever his number was called, but the statistics are not what stand out most to him. The memories he values most are the relationships built with teammates, the excitement of chasing a common goal, and the experience of making a deep playoff run together. Looking back, the undefeated regular season remains the moment that shines brightest because not many teams get the opportunity to accomplish something that special, and seeing all of the hard work pay off alongside his teammates created memories that will last a lifetime.

One of the biggest reasons Cooper continues to make plays is his growth as a student of the game. Over the past year, he made a big leap by becoming a smarter football player. He spent more time studying film, learning offensive and defensive tendencies, and developing a deeper understanding of what he was seeing on the field. Before the snap, his eyes immediately go to alignments, tendencies, and details his team discovered during film sessions throughout the week. That preparation allows him to play faster, react quicker, and stay one step ahead when the ball is snapped. The game slows down when preparation speeds up, and Cooper's commitment to understanding the game has elevated his impact to another level.

When the lights get brighter and pressure begins to build, Cooper separates himself through trust in his preparation and his willingness to stay calm when others panic. He does not rely on flashy plays or emotional reactions. Instead, he trusts the countless hours of work that happened long before kickoff. His teammates know exactly what they are getting every Friday night because he approaches every game with the same mindset, energy, and determination to leave everything he has on the field. That consistency has become one of his greatest strengths and one of the reasons coaches can depend on him in critical moments.

Like every athlete, Cooper has faced adversity along the way, and those challenges have helped shape the player and person he is becoming. Setbacks have taught him resilience, patience, and the importance of maintaining faith during difficult moments. Rather than allowing obstacles to become excuses, he has learned to use them as fuel for growth. Through every challenge, he has continued to trust God, stay focused on the work in front of him, and keep moving forward. Those experiences have strengthened his mindset and reinforced the values that guide him both on and off the field.

Faith plays a huge role in Cooper's life and in the way he approaches football. His favorite Bible verse, Colossians 3:23, says, "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters." That message serves as a daily reminder to give his best effort in everything he does. Faith, family, and team form the foundation of who he is, and he works hard to represent all three the right way every time he steps onto the field. Those values help shape his leadership, his work ethic, and the respect he earns from coaches and teammates.

The offseason has already become the next mission. Cooper is focused on becoming faster, stronger, more explosive, and more complete as a football player. Every workout, every drill, every lift, and every hour of preparation is focused on helping him take another step forward before next season arrives. His goal is to keep improving in every area of his game while helping position his team for another successful season. He also has his sights set on playing football at the highest level he can earn, knowing that continued growth in the classroom, weight room, and on the field will be the key to reaching that goal.

Moving forward, fans can expect the same fierce effort, physical style of play, and relentless determination that have already become trademarks of Cooper's game. Coaches can expect a dependable, coachable, team-first competitor who will embrace his role, prepare the right way, and compete with everything he has every time he steps on the field. As his athleticism, football IQ, and overall skill set continue to grow, so will his impact, making him a player worth watching closely in the seasons ahead.

I assess that Cooper brings toughness, versatility, football intelligence, and commitment to team success. He plays with physicality, discipline, and confidence while consistently putting himself in position to make winning plays. His ability to process information quickly, trust his preparation, and perform under pressure allows him to impact games in multiple ways. He combines dependable production with leadership qualities that help elevate those around him.

Programs looking for competitors who value hard work, preparation, and accountability will appreciate everything Cooper brings to the table. His football IQ continues to rise, his commitment to improvement remains strong, and his team-first mentality has a positive impact throughout the locker room. As he continues developing his speed, strength, and overall athletic ability, his ceiling continues to rise. The combination of faith, toughness, intelligence, and work ethic gives Cooper the foundation to continue growing into an even more impactful player while positioning himself for opportunities at the next level.

Expect Cooper to continue evolving into a bigger playmaker and leader as he gains more experience and continues elevating his game. His dedication to preparation, his willingness to embrace coaching, and his relentless work ethic create tremendous upside moving forward. The foundation is already in place for him to continue making major strides, and if he maintains the same approach that helped fuel an undefeated regular season, his best football is still ahead of him. The future remains bright for a competitor whose greatest strengths often go far beyond the stats and show up every time effort, toughness, and character are needed most.
