Terry is a rare blend of skill, power, and relentless work ethic. A crafty combo guard with a deadly touch from beyond the arc, Terry commands attention with his scorching 45.2% shooting from downtown. Whether playing on or off the ball, his versatility shines. When in attack mode, Terry is a force to be reckoned with—his explosive drives through the lane showcase his grit and physicality, often ending with fierce finishes at the rim. He loves playing above the rim but is known for his aggressive and physical attacks to the basket. Terry's game extends far beyond nasty dunks. He can back down smaller guards in the post, leveraging his strength and polished footwork to score efficiently. Relentless on the boards and a rock-solid defender, Terry's presence is felt on both ends of the court.
Last season, Terry battled through adversity, playing just 10 games due to illness but still managing to average 9.4 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. On the AAU circuit in the Prelude 32 division, he added 8.5 points and 5.4 rebounds per contest. Recognizing the need for growth, Terry is working tirelessly on his middy pull-up game, knowing this would elevate his already impressive skill set. That dedication is paying dividends—this season, he’s elevated his game to average a stellar 21.6 points and 9.2 rebounds per game. His offseason commitment to the gym and weight room has not only increased his physical strength but also his confidence, allowing him to dominate in ways he couldn’t before.
Terry’s goals for this season go beyond personal stats. He’s determined to lead his team to a winning record, a district championship, and a deep regional tournament run. Despite being the only consistent starter returning, he recognizes the need to bring his team together and lead by example, guiding them with his experience and determination.
One of his most notable accomplishments is being named a Top 20 selection at the Chris Paul Rising Stars Camp and winning the 1v1 championship at the McDavid Camp. Looking ahead, Terry is fired up for matchups against their biggest rival, Knott County Central—games known for their intense physicality and emotional stakes. These battles fuel his competitive fire, while the adversity he’s faced off the court sharpens his mental toughness, preparing him for any challenge that comes his way.
His unshakable trust and faith in God drives Terry above all else. Every step he takes, every decision he makes, is grounded in his belief that God’s plan for his life is perfect. When faced with adversity, Terry leans completely on God for strength and guidance. His go-to scripture, Jeremiah 29:11, is a cornerstone of his faith: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you.” Repeating this verse gives Terry the confidence to overcome any obstacle, knowing God is with him in all things. Terry firmly believes that God fuels his talent, drive, and success, and he lives his life in a way that reflects his gratitude and trust in Him.
Off the court, Terry’s life revolves around his faith. He treasures time spent with family, enjoys listening to music, and always seeks ways to grow closer to God. For Terry, basketball is a gift from God, and his dedication to improving his craft is a way of honoring that gift.
