Last season gave Rico a chance to turn that potential into production as he finished with more than 700 all-purpose yards in seven games while earning two Offensive MVP awards, one Match MVP honor, and Most Improved Player. Confidence continued growing as the season rolled on, especially as he became better at reading leverage, trusting his routes, and taking advantage when the football came his way. Rico credits a strong coaching staff with national-team and DI college experience for helping him understand how he could make a bigger impact. Film became another major weapon because he studied football at different levels, looking for details he could take back to his own game.

One of Rico’s favorite moments came during the opening game when his coach trusted him to make big plays that helped break a deadlock and put the offense in position to score. That trust meant plenty because Rico wants to show he can deliver when his number is called while still attacking the smaller details with the same energy. Even backside blocking matters to him because he believes energy should never depend on whether the football is coming his way. Those sessions allowed him to challenge his physicality and athleticism while learning from different environments and competition. Rico knows his size can open doors within a matchup, but he also understands that technique determines how consistently he can take advantage of it.

Rico doesn't want to rely on simply being bigger than the defender standing in front of him because he wants the details of his receiver game to be just as dangerous. Creating separation has become a major focus, along with giving defensive backs different looks so they can't settle into what he's trying to do. Add his athletic ability and physical style to that growing route arsenal, and Rico is working to become much harder to figure out before the ball ever leaves the quarterback’s hand.

The road from London brings its own challenges because Rico doesn't receive the same number of games or chances to be evaluated as many athletes playing in America. That reality has taught him that waiting around won't get him where he wants to go, so he's learned to contact coaches, improve his film, and seek out the strongest competition he can find. Patience has been tested during that journey, but persistence continues pushing him forward. Instead of using his location as an excuse, Rico has made it another reason to work and find ways to get his game seen.

His offseason grind has been focused on getting stronger without sacrificing the speed and athleticism that make his size even more dangerous. Rico spends his time lifting, working on the field, breaking down film, and studying defensive backs to understand their habits before he ever lines up against them. He's also balancing that football work with his studies and goals of becoming a quant trader, giving his daily schedule plenty to handle. The same analytical mind he brings to academics shows up in football because he wants to understand why defenders react the way they do instead of simply running a route and hoping it works.

The upcoming schedule gives Rico exactly what he's been looking for because he wants to test himself against serious competition. Facing NFL Academy, a program that has battled teams such as IMG and Massillon, along with a matchup against Wagner College’s JV roster, gives him chances to show what his game looks like against talented players. Rico wants more than just being on the field for those games because producing good film and showing college coaches what he can do are major goals. He also wants his performances to show that talented football athletes can come from outside the United States and still compete at a high level.

Rico starts attacking a matchup before the snap by checking safety alignment, corner leverage, and signs that immediate physical pressure could be coming. Those clues help him decide how he wants to attack his route, whether that means selling one direction before breaking another way or using speed to create separation. His preparation allows his football IQ to work with his athletic gifts instead of relying only on his size. Coaches can expect a fierce competitor who wants coaching, listens to what's being asked, and attacks his assignment whether the play is designed to find him or someone else.

The distance still left in his journey may be the biggest thing fueling Rico because he knows earning a college football chance from London will require him to keep fighting for attention. He's chosen not to enroll in an American prep school, making every workout, rep, game, and bit of film even more important to what he is chasing. Rico wants to earn the chance to play college football in the United States while continuing to grow academically and athletically. He doesn't know exactly how far football will take him, but he plans on finding out by continuing to work until somebody gives him that chance.

His growing route work and release package give him ways to beat defenders without just depending on size, while his willingness to block shows that his effort doesn't stop when the football goes elsewhere.
