Matthew is a powerful downhill force who attacks the rim with real intent every time he puts the ball on the floor. Explosive off the bounce with a nasty first step, he puts defenders in immediate trouble the moment he turns the corner. When lanes open, he rises with authority, finishing with either hand and throwing it down when the opportunity is there. His athleticism is not just for show. He uses that bounce with edge to gobble up rebounds like candy, attacking the glass with purpose on both ends of the floor.

There is more to his game than raw power. Matthew sees the floor well, drops sweet dimes when help collapses, and consistently makes the right read out of pressure. Defensively, he brings real bite as a strong on-ball defender and a sneaky good shot blocker who times his contests and erases mistakes around the rim. And while defenders may want to sag off, they cannot sleep on his ability to shoot from deep. His growth as a three-level scorer has forced defenses to stay honest, opening even more space for his downhill attacks and playmaking.

This season at Oklahoma Christian Academy, Matthew is averaging 24.5 points per game on 61% shooting, along with 10 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, and 1.5 blocks. Last season, he averaged 17 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists for the OKC Storm, and the jump in efficiency, confidence, and overall impact has been massive. His biggest improvement has been becoming more comfortable as a three-level scorer and trusting his outside shot, which has completely opened the game up for him. As that confidence continues to grow, so does his ability to create easy opportunities for teammates.

Matthew’s goals are team-driven and he wants to make state and make a real run at a state championship with his teammates this season. Looking ahead, he is focused on competing at an even higher level next year and putting himself in position for another championship push. What fires him up most is playing against high-ranked opponents and games that get physical and chippy. That competitive edge brings out his best and fuels the intensity he plays with on both ends.

When facing adversity, Matthew locks in and competes harder. He does not let the moment affect his game. Instead, he steps into a leadership role, keeping teammates focused and pushing the group to do what it takes to win. While he has had conversations with colleges and no official offers yet, his game is moving in the right direction, and the combination of production, physical tools, and continued growth is hard to ignore.

I assess that Matthew brings physical scoring punch, rebounding dominance, and defensive edge to a college program. His ability to attack downhill, finish above the rim, and impact the game on the boards gives him immediate value. Add in his improving perimeter shot and playmaking, and he becomes a tough matchup who can pressure defenses in multiple ways.

As Matthew continues to build confidence as a shooter and grow as a creator for others, his ceiling keeps rising. Expect him to remain a stat sheet stuffer who sets the tone with energy, toughness, and competitive fire. He has the tools and mindset to keep climbing and make serious noise at the next level.
