Joshua is a fierce, electric, and dynamic player, he’s the kind of player who gives high-octane energy that lights up the court every time he plays.. A true energizer in every sense of the word, Joshua is the spark that keeps his team blazing. Defensively, he’s a nightmare, pressuring full-court, locking down the other team’s top scorer, and doing it without running out of gas. That kind of grit doesn’t just come from hustle but comes from the heart. Offensively, he brings a crafty, versatile game that’s built around his explosive mid-range package. He attacks with purpose, flows into pull-ups, and punishes defenders who overcommit at the arc. His style is compact but explosive, always balanced, always aware. It’s a two-way motor that never stops.
This past season, Joshua averaged 10.4 points, 2.7 assists, 2.4 rebounds, and 2.3 steals per game. He shot 39% from the field, 31% from deep, and a confident 83% at the line. But what really jumps out is his evolution. His biggest improvement was his confidence and scoring aggression, especially with his mid-range game. Last season’s hesitation turned into this season’s strength. And while his jumper is still evolving from three, his offseason goals are focused: improved ball-handling, sharper shooting from distance, and explosive movement through plyometric training. It’s all part of his plan to set himself apart. His biggest motivation is knowing he was a major part of his high school’s 15-1 season and knowing how much more he has left to show.
Joshua’s playing with the North York Lions Academy, and they’re already making noise. They recently came out on top at the College Basketball Prospect Tournament and have a loaded slate ahead, including Brawl for the Ball, Spring Jam Fest, Grand Rapids, Las Vegas, and Maheim. His goal isn’t just about wins, but he wants to grow, evolve, and get the recognition he knows he’s earned. The Vegas run and Spring Jam Fest have him especially hyped, not just for the competition, but because they’re prime moments to display his skillset in front of coaches, scouts, and family.
Off the court, Joshua stays grounded. He’s driven by purpose, by the “why” behind the grind. And that’s what fuels him during the hardest stretches. Energy is his language that flows through him and fuels his team. He doesn’t need a scoreboard to play hard. Every game starts with a spark. And when adversity shows up, Joshua leans on mental toughness and reflection. He reminds himself who he’s playing for. That focus and inner fire get him back in control, ready to shift momentum. Two phrases shape his game: “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail,” and “When the going gets tough, dig deep and remember why you’re here.” He lives them, every possession.
I assess that Joshua’s value lies in his explosive energy and defensive tenacity. His ability to guard multiple positions full-court while staying active and vocal makes him an ideal fit for high-intensity systems. His confidence and craft in the mid-range give him an outlet when defenders chase him off the line. Though he still has areas to grow, his growth from last year proves he's willing to put in the work and that effort is starting to show in tangible ways.
Colleges in search of a fierce, gritty two-way guard with untapped offensive potential should take a long look at Joshua. His ability to defend at a high level, knock down tough mid-range shots, and ignite a team with relentless energy are qualities that elevate programs. As his handle, three-point shot, and finishing package continue to evolve, he projects as a dangerous rotational guard who can swing momentum and lead by example.
Expect a louder Joshua. Expect an athlete who plays every game like it’s personal. With another offseason of development, AAU exposure, and a bigger role on his high school squad, he’s on track to make waves. His hunger, hustle, and commitment to growth give him a ceiling far above what’s currently on paper. The fire’s lit and it’s just getting started. Stay tuned!
