Mathew is a dynamic guard who plays with a fearless edge and an explosive skill set that forces defenses to adjust from the moment he steps on the floor. He mixes smooth perimeter shooting with a powerful ability to attack the basket, finishing through contact with either hand. What makes him stand out is his balance of athleticism and basketball IQ. He knows when to attack, when to create for others, and how to flip momentum in his team’s favor. Add in his relentless energy on both ends, and he’s a guard coaches can count on to deliver every possession.
This past season with the OKC Storm, Mathew averaged 16.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.1 steals per game while shooting a blistering 61% from the field. His biggest improvement has been in his perimeter game, becoming more confident shooting off the catch and pulling up off the dribble. He has also improved his efficiency as a finisher, showing the ability to break down defenders and finish at the rim. Offseason focus has been on strengthening his handles and expanding his playmaking, determined to become a more complete offensive weapon. He proved himself as a leader by guiding his NXTPro team to a top-10 national ranking, finishing with a 34–7 record and a deep postseason run.
Mathew thrives in competitive environments, especially when matched against elite opponents. His composure under adversity, combined with a “next play” mindset, allows him to stay locked in and consistent no matter the situation. He’s stepping into a new challenge at Oklahoma Christian Academy with his sights on leading the program to a state championship, bringing the same toughness and determination that earned him recognition on the national stage. Off the court, he enjoys spending time with family and friends and supporting other school sports, showing the same passion and energy he carries into basketball.
I assess that Mathew’s scoring ability, athletic slashing, and defensive toughness make him a guard who can immediately lift a program. His willingness to play the right way and his ability to score at all three levels ensure he can deliver in multiple roles. He’s more than a scorer, but a playmaker who impacts winning.
Expect Mathew to keep evolving into a complete guard. As he continues to grow in his playmaking and perimeter shooting, he has the potential to become a go-to leader who delivers in big games. His competitiveness, motor, and versatility signal a bright future, and he’s positioning himself to be a name college coaches will have to take seriously moving forward. Stay tuned.
