This is not just a rising star. This is a budding phenom who plays the game with speed, fire, and fearless confidence. Ashton is an electric point guard whose pace immediately puts pressure on defenses. Sick handles combined with speed make him tough to contain, and once he gets downhill, everything opens up. He lives in attack mode, slicing into seams and forcing defenders to react, then punishing them, whether that means scoring himself or setting the table for a teammate for an easy look. His court vision is elite, making thread-the-needle dimes and keeping the offense flowing with purpose and control.

From deep, Ashton's rainmaker is silky smooth. He leads his team, shooting a blistering 40% from three, hitting shots off the catch, off the dribble, and in rhythm. That consistency is no accident. He lives in the gym, at least once every day, constantly working on his weaker areas and stacking reps to make his shot automatic. Averaging 11 points per game as a sophomore, he has already become a reliable scoring presence while embracing the responsibility of running the show. A two-year varsity starter, he plays with poise, confidence, and a growing command of the game.

Defensively, the edge shows. Ashton is scrappy, relentless, and fully bought in on that end of the floor. He takes pride in locking up the opposing team’s best player, picking pockets, and turning steals into fast-paced transition buckets. That nonstop motor and competitive fire fuel a team that sits at 18-1 and is ranked as the number 2 team in the state. Winning is the standard, and Ashton embraces it fully.

His biggest improvement from last season has been his jump shot, and he is not stopping there. He continues to pour time into both his shooting and defense, knowing those areas are critical at the next level. The goal this season is to win a state championship with his boys. He approaches the season one step at a time, focused on leading, competing, and keeping the team moving forward together.

What fuels him most is the work. The hours and the doubt he heard along the way. People questioned what he could do, and he answered by putting his head down and grinding. When facing adversity, Ashton shuts out distractions, stays positive, and focuses on the next play. Without dwelling or overthinking. Just confidence, belief, and hooping.

I assess that Ashton’s speed, ball handling, and shooting consistency give a college program a guard who can control tempo, create offense, and defend with purpose. His willingness to take on tough defensive assignments adds value beyond the box score.

Moving forward, expect continued growth as a leader and two-way guard. With his work ethic, mindset, and competitive edge, Ashton is poised to be a high-impact player whose best basketball is still ahead of him. Buckle up, y'all, this will be a show to remember. Stay tuned.
