DeAndre Schauf

6ft, 155lbs, Class of 2028

Muchin College Prep, IL

DeAndre brings a balanced, dynamic attack, and the first thing he trusts is his mind. He watches how defenders move, studies their alignment and body language before the snap, then chooses the answer that gives his offense its best chance. Through Weeks 1–5, he has thrown for 883 yards and 10 touchdowns while adding 319 yards on the ground. His arm and legs make him dangerous, but being mentally ahead of the defense is what he believes has made his start so strong.

His biggest improvement since last season has come inside the pocket. DeAndre has worked on the small movements that buy him time, help him stay ready to throw, and keep a play alive when the first opening closes. That footwork gives his game an explosive edge because a defender has to respect the pass even as DeAndre finds room to move.

DeAndre helped his team reach the playoffs and has passed the 4,000-yard mark in total passing yards. During the offseason, he went to camps to get his name in front of more people while sharpening his craft. He now wants to leave a strong mark on his junior season.

The memory of his two cousins who have passed away fuels DeAndre every time he takes the field. They give his football journey a purpose that means more to him than any number.

When asked what a coach can expect from him, DeAndre answered with a first down. That simple standard speaks to a fierce competitor who wants to turn his chance with the ball into forward progress for his team.

DeAndre knows he sets an example away from the game as well as during it. The way he embraces that role gives his voice meaning among teammates and adds substance to the player he is becoming.
