Sam brings versatility and energy to every possession. Quick to the basket, crafty in traffic, and steady from the perimeter, he’s a well-rounded offensive threat who knows how to create for himself and others. His ability to hit the three at a blistering 41% clip makes him a constant danger on the perimeter, while his strong finishing and defensive presence ensure he contributes on both ends of the floor. What separates Sam from many at his position is his unselfish approach, always looking to get teammates involved while still having the confidence to step into shots when the moment calls. Coaches can expect toughness, high effort, and a player who gives 110% every trip down the court.
Last season, Sam averaged 10.2 points, 5.4 assists, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.7 steals per game while shooting an efficient 52% from the field and 41% from deep. His biggest improvement came from the outside shooting, becoming far more confident in both catch-and-shoot situations and creating shots off the dribble. This offseason, his focus has been on sharpening his floater, strengthening his non-dominant hand, and building comfort when pulling up under pressure. Each improvement has added another layer to his game, giving him more ways to score and impact the floor.
What fuels Sam every time he steps on the court is deeply personal, he plays in honor of his two brothers who sadly passed away, carrying their memory with him as motivation to give his all. He handles adversity with composure, calming himself, assessing the situation, and putting in the extra work to overcome challenges. Off the court, Sam is equally driven and well-rounded, spending his time working out, fishing, mountain biking, hiking, and being with friends and family.
I assess that Sam’s combination of scoring efficiency, court vision, and defensive effort makes him an asset to any team. His ability to space the floor with shooting while creating opportunities for teammates elevates the overall offense. With his energy and unselfish style, he has the tools to make an impact at the next level by being both a reliable scorer and a playmaker who keeps everyone engaged.
Sam has the potential to grow into a complete guard. Continued development of his floater, off-hand, and off-the-dribble shooting will only make him more dangerous. His mindset, motivation, and steady progression point to a player who won’t stop improving. Expect him to evolve into a leader who can compete against older, stronger competition while maintaining the same relentless drive and versatile skill set that already makes him stand out. Stay tuned for a monster season ahead.
