Massey is a versatile two sport athlete who impacts the game in many different ways. What he does may not always show up in the final game stats, but it is his punishing blocks that set up both the running and passing game. He is an expert at opening holes. Effortlessly, he just handles his opponents with graceful ease. On the defensive side of the ball, he is an absolute disruptive force who won’t be denied.
As a Sophomore last season, he had 11 Tackles for loss, 15 Tackles, 5 Sacks and 10 Assisted tackles. This upcoming season, his goal is to double his stats from last season and make 1st All-Team Regional D line as well as hopefully get his first college offer.
When things get tough during a game, he is able to stay focused and use that adversity as motivation. He has a relentless motor and he is extremely competitive. When asked what a coach can expect from him, he said “a smart, physical, coachable, high endurance player who understands not only my position, but the positions around me. I know where my teammates should be during each play. I am a student of the game who puts in the work and who is hungry to get better.”
As far as college goes, he said he wants to go to a school that feels the most like home for him. He simply loves the game and he is excited to see what the future holds. This kid is a man on a mission, who has a very high ceiling. He has a high game IQ, and he is extremely versatile. This allows him to play multiple positions on both sides of the ball. I am predicting a truly breakout season. Stay tuned!
