AJ steps on the floor with calm confidence, a dynamic presence who plays bigger than his size. He brings efficiency, toughness, and a do-it-all edge that hits from the opening tip. When the lights come on, everything is simple for him. Trust God, trust the work, and play free. That freedom shows up in how he moves, how he shoots, and how he attacks every opportunity without hesitation. He’s not forcing anything; he’s letting the game come to him and then making it pay.
That efficiency didn’t happen by accident. Shooting 54% from the field and a blostering 40.5% from three comes from countless unseen hours, reps stacked on reps, and a confidence built in empty gyms long before the crowd shows up. He takes shots he believes in, and that belief is earned. Defenders can’t cheat off him, can’t sag, and can’t rush him, because he’s comfortable in his spots and ready to deliver.
But what really separates AJ is what he does beyond scoring. When his team needed someone to control the boards, he answered. Undersized or not, he stepped into the fight and owned it. Every rebound and every possession mattered. He battled inside, cut off second chances, and showed that toughness isn’t about height, it’s about heart and willingness. That same edge shows up on the defensive end, protecting the rim, contesting everything, and making opponents earn every look. Averaging 15.6 points and 6.4 rebounds per game in one of the most competitive conferences around. Top 5 in scoring, top 5 rebounding, and making his mark across the board. Add in 2nd Team All-Conference and WBCA All-Academic, and it’s clear he’s handling business everywhere. Production, efficiency, and discipline all in one.
In the locker room, something different was building. New group, new pieces, but one shared goal, to win. That connection hit early and never left. Back-to-back regional championships. First time in school history with back-to-back 20-win seasons. That doesn’t happen without trust, chemistry, and guys buying into something bigger than themselves. AJ was right in the middle of that, doing whatever was needed night after night.
The season didn’t start smooth. Football guys coming in late, only one week of practice before the first game, and early struggles that could’ve gone sideways. Instead, they stayed together and figured it out. AJ stayed steady and positive, leaning into faith and encouragement to keep the group locked in. No panic, just growth.
His biggest improvement came in areas that don’t always get headlines. Rebounding, mid-range scoring, and confidence. Expanding his game made him tougher to guard and harder to keep off the boards. That added layer gave him more control over games and allowed him to impact winning in more ways.
Then AAU hit, and that rhythm carried over. Two games, two statements. 18 and 5 in one. 22 and 10 in the next. Scoring, rebounding, making plays, defending, doing it all while playing free and feeding off his team. Confidence was flowing, and everything was clicking.
Through it all, faith stays at the center.
His relationship with God is where it all starts. Before every game, a quiet prayer, trusting in His plan and asking for guidance and protection. That trust carries into how he plays, free, confident, and grounded. It’s bigger than basketball, and it fuels the way he approaches everything, from competition to leadership to everyday life. Giving God the glory isn’t just words; it’s how he moves.
The mission is to keep growing and expanding every part of his game. Hr also wants to be the best teammate and leader possible while chasing that college scholarship. AJ wants to prove he belongs as he feels he’s been overlooked. And now he wants to make sure nobody misses what’s coming next.
AJ gives a shoutout to the parents, trainers, and coaches who helped build it all. The foundation is strong, and the hunger is real.
I assess that AJ is a tough, efficient two-way guard who brings consistent production and physical presence despite being undersized. His ability to score at a high clip, stretch the floor, and control the boards makes him a valuable piece in any system. His willingness to embrace physical play and do the dirty work adds another layer to his impact, while his growing confidence continues to unlock more of his offensive game.
AJ’s clearly on the rise and showing more and more of what he can do each time out. His performance in a competitive conference, combined with his AAU production, shows a player ready to take on a bigger role and continue producing. As he keeps evolving his all-around game and leadership presence, he is poised to be a reliable, high-motor contributor who can impact winning at the next level. The mindset, discipline, and drive are all there, and the next step looks well within reach. Stay tuned.
