Jake is a small guard with a massive game as an explosive downhill playmaker with crafty vision, relentless energy, and the kind of confidence that can’t be taught. He plays with a chip on his shoulder and purpose in every step, using his elite quickness to collapse defenses and his dazzling passing to light up scoreboards. Jake’s feel for the game is second to none. He sees plays before they happen, thrives in tight spaces, and dictates pace like a true floor general. What sets Jake apart from other guards is his ability to impact the game from baseline to baseline. He picks up full court, locks in defensively, and brings a coach’s mind to every decision. Coaches should know they’re getting toughness, leadership, and a high-IQ weapon who makes everyone around him better.

Jake finished his school season averaging 10 points, 3 assists, 2 steals, and 3 rebounds per game, but the breakout came in his scoring evolution. Once a catch-and-shoot threat, he developed into a true three-level scorer with newfound confidence and a tighter handle. In AAU play, he’s averaging 7.5 assists and adding 8 points and 4 boards per game. Last weekend, he turned heads with a jaw-dropping 23 assists, 6 rebounds, 2 blocks, 3 steals, and 8 points in two games, highlighting just how complete and commanding his floor game has become. His offseason focus is on tough shot-making, knowing he’s stepping into an even larger scoring role. With a trip to the state championship under his belt and the pain of falling short fueling him, he’s more motivated than ever to finish the job.

Playing with Shocker 2026 on the Adidas Gold Circuit, Jake has one goal in mind: win it all in Rock Hill and punch their ticket to 3SSB. But it’s not just about the wins; it’s about showing how far his game has come. As a senior, he’s ready to showcase his full arsenal on both ends of the floor. Nothing fires him up more than being underestimated, players often try to exploit his size, but that only fuels his edge and lights the fire. He faces adversity with maturity, responding with a next-play mentality and always finding ways to uplift his team. The best coaching advice he’s ever received is, "Just go play." It’s a reminder that at the end of the day, it’s about pure, instinctive basketball, and Jake plays it as purely and fearlessly as anyone.

I assess that Jake’s elite court vision, tempo control, and defensive pressure give him high-level value at the point guard spot. His passing instincts and fearless scoring make him an ideal floor leader, especially for programs that thrive on fast tempo, ball movement, and two-way toughness.

Jake is built to lead and wired to win. With his expanded scoring ability, elevated poise, and battle-tested experience, he’s poised to have a breakout senior season. His heart, hustle, and basketball brain make him a dangerous playmaker with serious next-level potential. Jake may be small in stature, but don't let the size fool you because he always makes a giant impact. That mission to return to the state championship has him playing with passion, purpose, and relentless grit. Stay tuned, as his may very well be a run to remember.
