As a high-IQ, three-level scorer with a quick release, Kasen Daeger forces defenders into scramble mode the moment he catches the ball. One of the most efficient shooters in the country, he’s lethal from deep with a career 42% threat from three with the ability to pull up on a dime, rise over a contest, or stretch the floor to unlimited range rainmakers. His deep bag includes creating separation off the bounce, punishing closeouts, and finishing through contact with athletic, explosive moves to get above the rim. Defensively, his length, improved strength, and competitive motor allow him to guard multiple positions while communicating and leading on the floor. Every possession with Kasen is a potential dagger that shifts momentum and silences crowds.
This past season, Kasen averaged 16.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2 assists per game while shooting 57% inside the arc and 40% from three. He joined the 1,000 career points club as a junior, becoming one of the youngest in Silver Creek history to hit that milestone, and earned Junior Indiana All-Star honors. His biggest improvement came from adding muscle and size, giving him the ability to play with more physicality at the rim and defend across the board. Even after missing two months of AAU season with an injury, Kasen turned his time away into an advantage, using the stretch to build upper-body strength, study film, and elevate his handle under pressure. The payoff showed in his return, dropping 15 points (5/9 3FG) with 5 rebounds and 3 assists in a win over Team Lillard.
This offseason, Kasen is focused on tightening his handles, creating more separation against athletic defenders, and finishing stronger through contact. His motivation burns brightest in high-stakes moments, close games, possessions that define outcomes, and opportunities to deliver when everything is on the line. For next season, he’s hungry for a 3A state title, Indiana All-Star honors, and proving he can lead a program built to win at the highest level.
Kasen’s recruitment continues to grow. He holds DI offers from SEMO, Eastern Illinois, and Morehead State, and more D1 programs are tracking him closely. Regarded as one of the bigger sleepers in the Midwest and one of the best shooters nationally, his name is quickly climbing recruiting boards. Off the court, Kasen’s time is split between family, friends, skill work, and studying the game’s elite scorers to expand his arsenal.
I assess that Kasen’s mix of elite shooting, quick release, and three-level scoring makes him a nightmare cover for any defense. His length, athleticism, and defensive versatility allow him to stay on the floor in any lineup, while his leadership and communication skills add value beyond the box score. A college program will gain not just an efficient scorer but a proven winner capable of raising the bar for his teammates.
Expect Kasen to keep rising as one of the Midwest’s most dangerous scoring guards. His dedication to adding strength and tightening his handles will make him even harder to contain. At the same time, his knack for delivering in clutch moments will continue to draw attention from high-level programs. With his skill set and mentality, he’s poised to be a difference-maker from the moment he steps on a college court. Stay tuned for a monster season ahead.
