Josiah is a certified sniper with a smooth, confident touch that sets fire to any gym he steps into. He’s more than a knockdown shooter; he’s a three-level scorer with poise, precision, and a high basketball IQ. Whether it’s catch-and-shoot, off the dribble, or coming off screens, Josiah is lethal from deep and doesn’t flinch when the game is on the line. He plays with a calm intensity, always under control, always ready to make the right read. He’s crafty off the bounce, smart in angles, and fearless at the rim despite contact. What makes him so tough to guard isn’t just his range; it’s how well he processes the game. He can carve defenders up with footwork and vision, and when the defense flies at him, he counters with a heady drive or a dazzling dime. Built to light it up but also willing to do the gritty work, Josiah has become a go-to weapon and a momentum-shifter who brings energy every time the ball touches his hands.

He averaged 7.1 points, 2 rebounds, and 1 assist for Grafton last season, shooting 39% from three and 45% from the field, solid numbers for a sophomore earning his stripes in the strong North Shore Conference. But the offseason improvement has been something special. Josiah plays with Chapman North and has stepped into a leadership role while showcasing serious growth. During the spring AAU circuit, he’s been averaging 12.5 points, 3.2 boards, 2.4 assists, and 1.3 steals per game while shooting a blistering 42% from three (59/141). His confidence is soaring after a standout performance at the NY2LA Final Chapter, where he erupted for a career-best 9 threes on 13 attempts. He followed that up with consistent scoring in key games, scoring 15 against Waupaca and 13 against Holmen, proving he delivers when it matters. Josiah’s biggest improvements have come on the defensive end, staying in front, guarding 1v1, and developing into a more complete two-way player. His offseason focus includes becoming more physical, tightening his handles under pressure, and handling primary ball-handler duties as he prepares to take on a larger role this season at Grafton.

Josiah's goal is to be known as one of the top shooters in the state and to make his mark on the NY2LA, Prep Hoops, and RecruitLook circuits. But more importantly, he wants to come back better in every way for his high school team, ready to lead a group with championship potential. He lives for the momentum shifts, like an 8-0 runs, shot clock violations, or silencing the crowd with a timely three. And when facing adversity, he hits the gym, gets his shots up, and grinds until the problem becomes a strength. The best advice he’s ever received is, "Basketball is a game of runs, stay steady, stay focused, and keep firing." Whether he’s looking for shots or making the extra pass, Josiah plays with purpose and passion. When he hears the noise from opposing benches or the crowd, it only fuels his fire.

Off the court, Josiah is laid-back and loyal; he enjoys golfing and spending time with friends. But when the lights come on, he’s a walking bucket with something to prove. With his work ethic, shooting ability, and competitive spirit, he’s quickly becoming one of the most intriguing guards in his class.

I assess that Josiah is a confident shot-maker with elite touch and range that stretches any defense. But his biggest impact lies in how he complements his scoring with vision, grit, and basketball IQ. Programs looking for a combo guard who can knock down shots, run the offense, and embrace the grind will find real value in Josiah’s game.

As his frame grows and his ball-handling responsibilities increase, expect Josiah’s production to rise with it. He’s already shown he can scorch nets and defend his position. With his continued growth, he could become one of the most dangerous and complete guards around. Stay tuned for a breakout season ahead.
