"Deadeye Dawg: The Versatile Shotmaker Built for Every Matchup"

6’3, 185lbs, Class of 2027

Beaverton HS, MI

Ian is a tough, fearless competitor with a versatile skill set and a jumper that demands respect. A dynamic combo guard who can run the offense or stretch the floor, he brings fierce energy to every position he plays from the 1 to the 4. Ian is dangerous from anywhere on the court, with a quick release and a sniper's touch from deep, but it’s his mindset and motor that set him apart. He plays with edge, thrives off contact, and isn't afraid to carry a team when it matters most. Whether he’s setting the tone with a pull-up three or locking in on defense, Ian's game is gritty, explosive, and built with purpose. He’s the guy who wants the ball when it counts and the one opponents don’t want to see heating up.

This past season, Ian racked up major recognition, earning a unanimous 1st Team Jack Pine Conference nod, a spot on the Midland Daily News Dream Team, Mlive Bay City Dream Team, and second team All-State (Division 3) from the Michigan AP. He was also named Honorable Mention All-State by the Detroit Free Press. His biggest improvement came from taking on a leadership role, elevating his handles to step into point guard duties, and learning how to control pace and run the show while still filling it up as a scorer. Now, his focus is on attacking the rim stronger, building post skills to complement his outside shooting, and becoming a more physical, in-your-face defender.

He’s making that happen with the 16U REAL Select squad this AAU season, where he’s already turning heads. At the Up North Challenge, Ian led his team to a 4-0 run, averaged 20 points per game, shot 50% from beyond the arc, and dropped 32 in the title game to claim MVP honors. His goals this summer are to tighten the handles, defend with fire, and keep torching defenses from deep. With the GRBA Nationals ahead, Ian’s locked in and hungry for more. He’s looking ahead to his next high school season with one thing on his mind, expanding his impact and showing that he’s more than just a shooter but a complete player who can take over in any role.

What fuels him most is being doubted. Ian embraces being the underdog and uses it as fuel to come right at his matchup with intensity. When facing adversity, he stays poised, breaks down the moment, and responds with composure. The best advice he’s ever received is, "Let the game flow to you", and he’s mastered how to do just that without losing his edge. Off the court, he enjoys spending time with family and friends and staying grounded in who he is.

I assess that Ian delivers a rare mix of confidence, scoring efficiency, and all-around toughness. His ability to play multiple positions, shoot the lights out, and compete with edge gives his team a constant weapon on both ends and a true leader on the floor.

As he continues to add strength, tighten his handles, and evolve as a defender, expect Ian to become a matchup nightmare at every level of the game. His ceiling is sky-high, and he’s already proven he’s not backing down from anybody. Expect another monster season ahead. Stay tuned.
