6'0", 162lbs, Class of 2026

Cane Ridge HS, TN

Tyshaun makes the game look easy, smooth, steady, and completely in control. His game is versatile and dependable, built on strong fundamentals and fierce instincts. Whether he’s hitting a three off the dribble, pulling up in the midrange, or navigating the pick and roll to find an open teammate, Ty gets it done with poise. He can push the tempo or slow it down and become a floor general, knowing exactly when to score and when to facilitate. Defensively, he brings a gritty edge, locking in and creating turnovers with active hands and strong anticipation. What separates Ty isn’t flash but the way he reads the game and keeps his team on balance.

This past season, Ty averaged 9.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.4 steals per game while becoming more comfortable as a lead guard. His biggest improvement was developing his IQ and understanding how to manage the flow of a game. While he’s often viewed as a shooter or scorer at Cane Ridge, he’s evolved as a playmaking and finding ways to create better shots for others, ultimately opening up more scoring chances for himself. This offseason, he’s focused on building strength and reshaping his body to add another level to his game. That's the goal .

Now playing the Tennessee Tigers under Coach Chip Smith, Ty is part of what he calls the best all-around team he’s played for. Every guy brings something unique, and Ty’s grateful to be part of such a deep, talented group. His AAU goals are to improve decision-making speed, become a stronger student of the game, and earn a scholarship to further both his basketball career and education. He’s looking forward to every event, from Bob Gibbons to Summer Havoc, because every game is a new opportunity to grow and compete.

Ty’s also embracing a leadership role in his senior season, stepping up vocally and leading by example. What fires him up most is when the whole team is locked in and when everyone is locked into the same mission, the game becomes something special. And when facing adversity , Ty stays calm. He believes clear minds make the right plays, and composure allows him to stay in control, even under pressure. The best coaching advice he’s received is “Don’t overthink it, let the game come to you”. That guides everything he does.

Beyond the U.S., Ty is also making waves internationally. Born in Guam, he’s been in contact with FIBA Guam’s national team coach EJ Calvo and is set to travel there in June to work out and potentially try out for the 17U or men’s national team. Representing his home country is an opportunity he’s honored to pursue, and another sign that his game, and his reach is growing fast.

Ty brings composure, intelligence, and a well-rounded offensive skill set that fits well into any system. His calm leadership, defensive effort, and efficient playmaking make him a strong asset for programs seeking a mature, coachable guard with upside.

As Ty adds strength and continues to expand his leadership, expect him to take a major step forward. With both local and international opportunities ahead, his growth as a player and leader will only get better. He’s a reliable, adaptable playmaker who’s just beginning to show everything he can do. He has a high ceiling of potential and poised for a breakout season ahead. Stay tuned.
