Electric from the opening tip, this is a two-way guard who brings speed, bounce, and nonstop pressure every time he hits the floor. DeAngelo plays with a fast motor and a sharp edge, creating chaos on both ends through active hands, explosive attacks, and relentless defensive energy. He thrives in space, blows by defenders off the bounce, and rises above traffic with purpose at the rim. On the other end, he takes pride in locking up the opposing team’s best guard, turning stops into instant momentum swings that light up the gym.
As a combo guard, DeAngelo scores at all three levels while keeping teammates involved. He is dangerous attacking downhill, confident shooting off both the catch and the dribble, and instinctive when creating opportunities for others. He plays fast but stays under control, showing poise well beyond his years. Each possession carries intent, whether he is pressuring the ball, jumping a passing lane, or pushing the pace after a stop. His game continues to grow as he adds strength, steadies his mid-range game, and becomes more vocal in guiding the floor.
His high school season reflected that growth across the board, averaging 12.8 points, 2.4 assists, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.1 steals per game while shooting 47 percent from the field and 38 percent from three. Those numbers tell the story of efficiency and impact, especially paired with his biggest jump from the previous season: smarter decisions and cleaner execution. Turnovers dropped, shot selection improved, and the three-ball became a real weapon rather than a gamble.
Chemistry became a turning point this past year. Learning how to respond after tough losses helped DeAngelo grow mentally and step forward as a leader. That mindset now fuels his offseason work, where the focus is to add strength, tighten the handles under pressure, extend shooting range, and elevate his voice on the court. He is a true gym rat, committed to the grind and willing to do whatever the team needs to win.
Certain matchups bring out the best in competitors, and for DeAngelo, IMG Academy is that measuring stick. It is the kind of rivalry that sharpens the edge and raises the standards, the type of game where defense turns into fast-break dunks and energy shifts on a single stop. That exact sequence is what fires him up most: locking someone down, then finishing the play with authority on the other end.
Coaches should know that they will get energy, effort, defense, and leadership every night. When facing adversity, DeAngelo stays composed, listens to coaching, and moves on to the next play without carrying mistakes forward. The advice that drives him is simple and raw, and it shows in his approach. Compete, or get left behind.
Looking ahead, the goal is a bigger leadership role and a deep playoff run. Off the court, he stays grounded through time with family, constant workouts, studying the game, and staying active in his community. On the recruiting front, Keiser University is on his radar, with interest coming from Beacon College as his profile continues to rise.
I assess that DeAngelo’s speed, defensive intensity, and ability to score or facilitate make him a guard who can immediately raise a program’s tempo and toughness. His willingness to defend top matchups and turn stops into offense gives coaches a reliable spark on both ends, especially in pressure moments where effort and composure matter most.
Moving forward, expect continued growth as his strength and leadership expand to match his natural explosiveness. With his work ethic and competitive edge, DeAngelo is poised to be a guard who will keep climbing, impacting winning at higher levels by setting the tone, attacking fearlessly, and competing possession by possession. Stay tuned.
